Cotto could never beat Floyd. He is to slow and to easy to hit. Cotto is a good fighter but he could never beat Floyd.

Too bad yall will never find out! I seriously doubt that ya boy(MW) would perform as good as yall think he would against any elite prime version of any fighter...just look at his resume and point out who he has fought that was actually in their prime...Cotto would have ****ed him up, pre-margarito no doubt about it...dont hate on the guy that fought anyone and everyone in front of him to defend cherrypicking no step up fighters...wake up look where boxing is right now!!!

I say Floyd wins 8 rounds to 4 in an entertaining fight.

In many ways I feel this is the real truth, he could have been more with the right training and the correct trainer but he never continued to evlove. The man needed a real tactican in his corner, World class level yet he was dealt his ****ing Uncle.

No he wasn't. Especially in the framework of them fighting Mayweather. Mayweather's strengths wouldn't have been much of a problem for Cotto's weaknesses. Floyd doesn't pressure his opponents, and he doesn't destroy them relentlessly. That would allow Cotto to fight methodically just the way he liked to. Cotto just before fighting Margarito would have been dangerous for Mayweather. He was peaking at that moment

Cotto would still put it down, not sure if he'd win but just ask yourself out of the two, who ducked who

Prime Cotto was OVERRATED! He low blowed his way to a win against Judah. His other quality opponent? An aging Mosley. He lost to even more OVERRATED Margarito. He lost to the smaller Pacquiao. So who has Cotto really beat?

Cotto was overhyped by Arum. Cotto is a B+ talent, but well see what improvements he made with steward.

sad thing is is that this fight would of been ****in awesome 3 years ago, and i bet my left nut that cotto would of accepted a fight with floyd.

as mentioned above, cotto does not have the output of castillio, that outout is what got JLC so close. IMHO cotto loses a 8-4 type decision with floyd pretty much potshotting and countering over the jab to victory.

the thing is cotto probably could have got a fight with floyd around the time margarito was calling him out and walking in on floyd's interviews.

but cotto is his own man and he doesn't play those games.
fights get made and he fights them.

Best point that's been made in the thread. As I stated earlier, I think PBF wins in the ring, but Cotto is a "man's man", and I have always and will always consider myself a fan. Micheal Buffer announcing Cotto's name is one of lifes simple pleasures...I love that ****.
