Man, I was just thinking about this last night and wondered why no one has ever posted it here. (Maybe I missed it) Sizewise they were about the same since Cop wasnt a particularly big HW. I think he comes in fight time at 220lbs. Lets talk about Crocop circa 2005 vs. todays Spider. Who wins and why?
I would like to think so, Prime Mirko was just a scary proposition for everyone esp. with the takedown defense.
I don't think Silva posses the striking skills to hang with the level of striker Cro Cop was back in the day.
Well its kickboxer vs, Muay thai. I find Silva incredibly versatile and powerful so lets not underrate him now. He also has the advantages of a clinch.
Got Old Drug Testing Became Gun Shy After Breaking His Ankle Got Old Is Less Able To Cut Off The Cage Than The Ring Injuries Reduced Ability To Train Hard (he's noticeably filled out) Got Old
Doesn't seem really fair to say he got old, though. Beats Minowa, Yoshida, Silva, Barnett and Sanchez all in one round in a variety of different ways then loses to Gonzaga, Kongo and we all know the rest. Yeah, the ring/cage thing may hold true. It's just sad at how high a level this guy is regarded only to be nothing more than a gatekeeper in his current run.
Crocop was a beast in his prime. I'm glad he finally showed it when he won the grand prix in 2006. Crocop by KO via headkick.
