Prime CW Adamek vs prime Joe Louis

I'd take Louis by stoppage, but Adamek would always be dangerous due to that right hand.

 

Style, size and power? The cruiserweight limit doesn't make sense here as they are both heavyweights. Marciano was 5'11" and about 185 pounds, Adamek is 6'2" and about 220 pounds. Adamek gets into brawls, but isn't as face first as Rocky.

It is hard to tell how Adamek's power would have measured up in that era, as he would have been one of the bigger and more athletic fighters that anyone in that time period would have faced. He equals Joe in height and reach, and is about 25 pounds heavier than him.

Joe probably was the bigger puncher, but really hard to tell as Joe wasn't regularly fighting people as large and athletic as the guys Adamek faced.

Only a fool asserts that one world class boxer will definitely beat another.

The whole point of holding a fight, is that the weaker fighter would win under some circumstances.

Having said that, there is sometimes one fighter who should definitely be favoured.

Joe Louis has the greatest resume of any heavyweight champion on paper, including Muhamad Ali.

Admek was never anything more than a good contender.

It is alright to favour Admek, but you would need a brilliant and detailed technical argument, in order to justify it!

Louis looks great until you consider that Brian Minto would have easily been one of his toughest opponents. Plus, Louis was on the canvas several times versus less than stellar opposition.
