I remember that fight, it was ruled a split decision draw. Good fight.

I kind of favor Pedroza over Sal Sanchez (sacrilege, I know) and I realize SS handled Danny twice, but I like Lopez here.

Pedroza was able to fluster and frustrate a lot of opponents, but Danny is nothing if not determined (see how many times he rose from early knockdowns to dominate and how he overcame a very, very tough and crafty Mike Ayala for evidence).

Lopez generally got better and stronger as the fight went on, wearing opponents down with his power and punching pressure. A guy could seem to have his number for a while and a few rounds later Little Red had them overwhelmed.

I think Pedroza is a tough puzzle to solve but Danny didn’t solve puzzles so much as scatter the pieces by slamming his fist on the board, so to speak. Eusebio looks good out of the gates but isn’t the kind of puncher to bother Lopez, who has caught up on the scorecards by the middle rounds and finding the range for his artillery to close strong. Remember, Pedroza has fits with a lot of guys like Bernard Taylor, Rocky Lockridge and Juan Laporte, and I think Danny’s offense is too much for him to overcome.

Taylor didn't get another shot for 3 years, he lost to Barry McGuigan . Boxing politics . He had great skill but couldn't tear tissue paper with his punches. It was like he couldn't dig his toes into the mat to punch or something.

Pedroza. He's much too slick for Lopez.

I liked Bernard Taylor, talented fighter, felt he edged Eusebio in their fight, but he didn't fight a lot of the contenders around at that time, i.e LaPorte and Lockridge. Also feel that Eusebio would stop Danny around the 13th round.
