I just watched Haye talking about Povetkin vs AJ and compared it to AJ`s post fight interview and Haye didn`t even mention how AJ tired Povetkin out by jabbing to the body, he doesn`t know as much as AJ`s team do about boxing and didn`t do stuff like jabbing to the body during his career, and I feel Povetkin would have knocked Haye out, the right hands landed on AJ last night were the same power as the punches Bellew stopped Haye with, also Haye would have struggled with Povetkins guard with his chin tucked in, Haye never beat anyone as defensively sound as Pov, do you agree?

Povetkin would beat Haye, but Haye was washed up when he fought Bellew, otherwise the fight would not have happened.

Prime4prime it would be very competitive, right now Povetkin by early KO.

Haye's success was based purely on his athletic abilities (speed, power, reflexes), and when it's gone, he'd turned into Bellew's punching bag.

Haye would still have went over in his prime if Povetkin was good enough to tag him. David’s whiskers were never good enough, it was just that in his prime he was sharp enough with his own counters to prevent enough opportunities to expose it.

I'd tip Haye, it's not like povetkin couldn't be hurt and Haye had the speed and power to land. Haye could also be quite slippery defensively when he wanted to be.

Never had a chin problem Haye. He was never seriously hurt throughout his career bar the learning fight with Thompson, and that was punching himself out too..Mock ?? He passes the chin checker test imo

I fancied that Povetkin would win when the fight could have been made, and I still do.

I think Haye takes him and possibly stops him...but my bet would be on a decision

But who hit Haye? Everyone who got him clean put him away or shook him up. it’s just that he had the reactions and speed to get away with it against the majority of men he fought.

Every fighter looks like they had a chin of iron until they start getting hit. Truth is the more they have in their favour the less they get hit.

Its the same with jones jnr. He went through his whole career without being hurt when caught, then as father time catches up he becomes chinny???? Haye did catch shots prime, same with Jones Jnr, they just didn't crack until they were old

Povetkin > Haye. Much more fluid, defensively better, has a better gameplan.

Haye may be more explosive and looks the part more. But appearances are deceivng in this case.

That’s my point though, it’s the getting old that allowed the chin getting checked. Less to do with the chin getting worse.

Certain fighters are taking shots early in their career. By comparison they pass the chin test on day one. So they’re exchanging blows until they reach a stage where the same shots begin to take more of a toll. This is a more common case for regular fighters.

Other fighters, the ones that trade on reactions, are really never getting hit enough to start with. They don’t exchange. They counter. Then the reactions fail and finally we get to find out if they pass the chin test. Roy Jones is a prime example. David Haye. Herbie hide. Herrol Graham. And so on and so forth.

In my opinion they did not lose a punch resistance. They never had to prove they ever had a punch resistance or a conventional defensive game until they slowed down.
