Tompson, Baer, Schmeling and Mercer probably take him.

The rest are fights that could go either way.

Im unsure about thompson. Hes good and all, but he likes to fight at a leisurely pace, tua would probably outwork him. but if he is really on the ball, he wont miss tua coming in at all, thompson is a clever and accurate fighter.

He bombs Shavers out early. He beats up Stiverne against the ropes all night. I think he could get to Lyle, Peter, and Gerry late after being behind on points.

Mercer could be a sucker for the left hook, even money. Probably a less exciting version of the Ike fight with a disputed decision.

I don't think he catches Toney, Haye, Schemling, Thompson, or Sultan and loses on the cards.

Baer beats the tar out of him, running his mouth the whole time, like he did Galento.

At his best Tua was a well conditioned fighter with a high punch output. His ability to give and take was among the best ever.... face it, he punched extremely hard with either hand and was almost impossible to hurt.

A true power house, strong legs, strong upperbody, one punch KO power with either hand and several different punches (hooks, uppercuts, overhand, crosses, straights, whatever).

He was short with a short reach... it didn't matter. He wasn't trying to out jab anyone or ever box from the outside. He liked to get inside and stay there.

Tua vs. Mercer almost happened. At this point Mercer was a little past prime and Tua was at his best. Prime vs. prime I'll take Tua. Tua punched harder, punched more often, was stronger, and could take a punch just as well if not better. He was also quicker than Mercer. Tua by decision or a late round TKO.

Tua vs. Peter would be good but eventually Peter gets stopped. Peter would probably be up on points at the time of the stoppage.

Tua outhustles Stiverne for a clear decision. I think Stiverne could go the distance but he gets pretty busted up.

C-o-o-n-e-y doesn't have the chin to take too many of Tua's bombs. Tua does have the chin to take C-o-o-n-e-y's bombs though. Gerry has him moments but gets stopped inside of 6 rounds.

Lyle has power and good overall skill. He was able to take some shots from Shavers and eventually stop him (Shavers wasn't the most durable though). He dropped Foreman but was eventually stopped. He gave a past prime Ali problems before being stopped late in the fight (a questionable stoppage). Lyle would give Tua problems and outbox him at times but eventually it gets ugly and Tua stops Lyle.

Schmeling didn't have the strength or chin to deal with Tua. He could hurt guys his own size and a little bigger but he wouldn't be able to make Tua blink. As good as Schmeling could be, I don't like his chances here. Tua by KO.

Baer is pretty overrated on this forum. He looked good against Carnera and Schmeling but he didn't look very good against Braddock, Louis, and others. Tua... by KO.

Haye, Toney, Thompson, Ibragimov... Tua drop decisions to these men. Styles make fights. I could see Tua catching Haye and stopping him with one punch though... probably wouldn't happen though.

I think he beats most of those, though some of them would have to be come from behind wins as a few of them would rack up points early.

mercer would beat him i think
haye would lose cause of his low hands and low outpunch,he could not stand to tua's pressure and workrate
others lose except maybe lyle, sultan and thompson.
toney too small for a tuaman

Nobody is putting Baer's lights out, and only Louis is keeping him down for the count.

The guy was walking around and laughing when Nova beat his skull in near the end of his career, and he shrugged off Galento's heavy attacks. Baer one of the more durable guys I can think of.

    KOs Earnie Shavers

IDK vs Gerry C0oney. Co0ney was sh!t, but might had bin 2 big 4 Tua 2 rich.

    Stops Samuel Peter

    Stops Ron Lyle

    Stops Bermane Stiverne

Either stops David Haye or loses a close decision

Either stops HW James Toney or wins a decision, but win he would

IDK vs Tony Thompson 2big again

probably stops z over8ed Max Baer, whom I have 2 rank over Schmelling & Louis.

    KOs Max Schmeling

wins vs Ray Mercer, not necessarily over z distanc

beats Sultan Ibragimov 1 way or enazer. Ibragimov might have tried 2 Byrd Tua, but then it would depend on whether Tua was paid 2 throw z fight like he did vs Byrd.

If he could have beaten a third of those guys, he would have done much much better in the real world.

Tua honestly seems to be the guy, who beats everybody in a fantasy fight, but looses to everybody in the real world.

I don't think Tua would have any trouble finding him.

I agree with this, Tua is grossly overrated in h2h match ups. Baer and Schmeling would both beat him. Lyle and Mercer probably would as well. Shavers, ****ey, and Morrison are less likely considering their chin issues, but they could still possibly win.

This is one of those comments that sounds clever but is actually just stupid.
