The point im trying to make is that physically, mentally and financially Oscar was in a very good state at that time, and that helps alot when boxing.
You can carry on living in your fantasy world where you think prime oscar, prime gatti, prime baldomir, prime vargas and prime gerena would all beat floyd, but until you realise that their is no boxer in this generation, regardless of prime, that would beat floyd theres no point discussing this any further with you

It's the way Floyd fans have to reason with Floyd having better competition as he moved up the weights than ever before. So Floyd holds back a bit more, the thought of him facing bigger punchers is too much for the fanboys, they claim he's not prime as he was eight years ago, which to me or you means back when he fought nobodies.

Truth is, Oscar would have been ducked.

Yeah, instead Hatton and little Marquez are more to his level. Well, I might have to agree there.

Floyd looks as good as he does because HE's IN A WEAK ERA.

Oscar was in a stacked era. :deal

I did not think their fight was as close as the scores indcated. I think that prime for prime Mayweather would have won a close decision. Posibily a split decision.

Based on how well an old, semi retired odlh did, I would definitely give a prime dlh a good chance to win.

A completely faded version of Oscar fought basically even with Prime Mayweather.

A prime Oscar certainly wouldn't do worse. I think it's obvious that Prime DLH beats Mayweather.

You must be about 8 years old if you seriously think entering the ring 2nd or getting a big purse mean **** once the bell goes.

Floyd may not have quite been peak in '07 (or he may have, it's debatable), but he was definitely prime. He had shown no signs of decline whatsoever by that point.

Oscar was years and years past his best, that is utterly unarguable.

A prime Floyd SD'd a well past his best Oscar. Logically, a prime Oscar rams the jab in his face frequently and forcefully for 12 rounds and takes the decision which an old, tired version narrowly missed out on.

And I don't want to shatter your dreams, but Jose Luis Castillo beat Floyd, and he isn't even one of the top fighters of this generation. :smoke
