Peoples tend to forget how the old Oscar looked. The new Oscar who walked around the ring like his foot was 100lbs fought flat footed. The old Oscar would bounce arond the ring the whole fight. The old Oscar trained by Alcazar with that baby bounce would destroy Floyd anyday. Floyd would have to be on his bike or his shell the majority of the fight.
i have to admit i'm very happy (and surprised!) at the number of honest, objective ****ing responses in this thread.
Nah, not when the fight at 154 wasnt close at all. and with DLH at 147, mayweather wouldnt have to play that much defense and more offense.
lol i see everyone was fooled by the fact that mayweather at 154 in a smaller ring, different gloves and battered hands being more defensive then usual but still barely getting hit was in a close fight. dlh threw numerous flurries that appeared to be doing something when actually if u watched closely on the replays he was barely landing ****... just look at compubox.. 17 percent landed... mayweather would have beat a prime dlh that always had problems with slick boxers...
Bull****. The fight was close and besides Oscar was a beast at 147, more mobile and quicker hands. He might just **** around and KO Floyd.
Not close at all? Not sure what fight you saw. And why would he not have to be as defensive at 147? DLH's left was most powerful and dangerous at 147.
most people that post on these threads dont know the difference between agression and effective agression... watch the fight a couple times and u will notice what the judges and dlh wanted u to believe was a close fight wasnt a close fight at all because he was barely landing anything with his flurries just making it look like he was doing something... just like when he fought pernell whittaker... barely landing anything while pernell was hitting him cleaner but he got the decision
the compubox for that fight is the poster boy for why compubox is ****. I don't think de la hoya landed much more than 17 % but EVERYTHING floyd threw they counted. I've watched the fight enough times to know that floyd wasn't nearly as effective as portrayed. Did he land more punches and more effective punches? Hell yeah. But it wasn't the landslide the numbers portrayed at all
just another guy that doesnt really understand boxing lol... watch that fight again... thats why they should actually pick judges that watch boxing... look at compubox... how is a fight close and u got a guy landing at 17% whats close about that.. that means he was only landing not even 2 out of every 10 punches... someone explain that to me how that is a close fight with that kind of percentage?
lol floyd doesnt have k0 power at 154 but if i remember clearly floyd's punches did their job very well.. especially those jabs to the gut which slowed dlh down tremendously... and floyd shots actually looked more flush that one hit that snapped dlh neck back
