At his best would Donald Curry be able to compete against the top WW fighters such as Errol Spence, Shawn Porter, Terrence Crawford, Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia? I think Curry would have scraped all of them out. The only guy I see giving Curry a little struggle is either Crawford or Porter. Curry, at his best, was one of the most skilled, technical boxer-punchers before falling off the rails. He was near perfect in terms of technique and efficiency for a short period.

Oh, with a day before weigh in like the modern guys get, and Curry is up there with Benitez, SRL and Hearns at WW. Brilliant fighter. Even giving those legends day befores'....would still be top drawer and too good for today's WW's

A shot Curry was competitive with Norris. I think a sharp Curry would have found Norris’ weak chin and KO him IMO.

Wasn't Donald Curry basically the same thing as Thurman? Good skills and athleticism? Not quite great? Overrated for a time when the welterweight division was weak?

Until Norris Ko'd him just like Mccallum, Nunn, and Honeyghan. Dude's got to be the most overrated fighter ever. His greatness rests on the small shoulders of Marlon Starling and Milton McCrory. Norris was so far better than him he might as well be floating in the air. Curry has seven defenses. Norris has seventeen. Curry beat Starling and McCrory. Norris beat Ray Leonard, John Mugabi, Donald Curry, Meldrick Taylor, Jorge Castro, Simon Brown, etc. His resume shits all over Curry's.

Currently in a great mood after hearing that Curry is finally in the IBHOF, and rightfully so. Way overdue but better late than never. Curry deserves more appreciation. Still believe he would have been unbeatable in today's generation.

Prime Curry would have dismantled Norris like he did Nino Larocca.

As for Curry vs the current welters.... jury is still out on Spence... Curry beats the rest. He likely stops Porter and Thurman... and he DEFINITELY stops Garcia.

Yeah, posts like this clearly show the guys who don't know a lot about boxing prior to this generation.

Comparing Curry to Thurman... Jesus Christ.

The man was neck-and-neck with Hagler as the P4P #1 for awhile.... ****in Keith Thurman? LMFAO!

Go learn something about the sport.

Thurman ain't in Starling's league, let alone Curry's.

This post leads me to believe you didn't even see their fight.

Curry was completely shot and was on even terms with Norris for most of the fight before getting stopped.

This was a Curry who was a good 7 years removed from his prime, against a peak Norris.

The Curry of the McCrory fight smashes Norris.

Like a shooting star, Don was amazing but his time just past suddenly

    Ask Starling about Curry?

Don would easly be champ now and he was phenomenal as champion
