You're stupidity has no boundaries. That was an excellent article and is based on the opinion of some of the most respected boxing historians alive, an article any true boxing fan would appreciate.

Anyway, you're clearly a waste of time and have no desire to learn about the sport so that's it for me.

Better fighter better resume period. He beat the big 4 in his day and has a wining record against them. SRL is the superiour fighter but due how people putting Duran as a god here at ESB he gets the short end of the stick despite obviously having the better resume and being more skilled and H2H match ups as well. Lastly I hate it when people give Duran full props for the 1st win by discredit SRL's win in the second fight a fight in which he made Duran quit in. It can't be overlooked.

The bottom line is this for me: Duran at his absolute best is better than Mayweather at his absolute best. Assuming they're both on top of their game on fight night, I'm going with Duran.

I rate Mayweather`s ability higher than the majority here on ESB do.... but the above post is ridiculous, seriously.

I'm Leonards biggest fan...I think in the truest sense of P4P that he's a better fighter than Duran. But no way in hell; does he have a better resume!

If you seriously consider the 2nd Hearns fight and the 3rd Duran fight better victories than those over De Jesus or Buchanan because they're considered better fighters, you need a history lesson!!! Take those away and you have 1-1 with Duran, 1-0 with Hearns and 1-0 against what we can all agree was a slightly faded Hagler. After that you have Benitez and not one other fighter of real recognition. The only other 2 names are Norris and Camacho who we discount because SRL was well past his best.

I've read a few of your posts before and you seem like you know what you're talikng about, but look at the idiotic posters that are agreeing with you...that should tell you something.

Leonard may have been the most naturally gifted fighter EVER, but his resume doesn't prove that.

Leonard a higher all time great ranking than Duran...I disagree but it's arguable.
Leonard better resume than Duran...no way!!!

P.S I never discredited Leonard's rematch victory over Duran, I've defended it to the hilt on the classic forum. Doesn't stop me being objective though!!!

And don't forget when comparing the big 4's fights against eachother that 1 was a MW, 2 were WW and one was a LW!!!

Ray Leonard was one of the fastest, more accurate punchers of any time & after the first Duran fight said something along the lines of `Duran is the hardest thing in the world to hit cleanly, Roberto Duran is for real`

I believe Leonard because he didnt like Duran at that time + Duran had just handed him his first ever defeat so he wouldnt have praised him if it wasnt true.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is WAY WAY better than Roberto Duran. Duran lost to ****ing Robbie Sims! Give me a break on this overrated, slow, face first loser. 1-4 against Leonard/Hagler/Hearns... Mayweather Jr. would destroy that guy... Do you really think Kirkland Laing would beat Floyd? I don't think so. It's like saying that Kobe Bryant won't beat Scottie Pippen in a game of one on one! I don't care that Duran fought in the 70's and 80's. That means nothing to me. Floyd is better. When was the last time Mayweather Jr. lost a fight????lol

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Pernell Whitaker are Duran's worse nightmare! It's not about being a fan of anybody. I love Kelly Pavlik. He is one of my fav fighters of all time already, but, I will be the first to say that he will have an uphill battle against ANY fighter who uses lateral movement. For instance, Paul Williams would kill Pavlik, just because of the style matchups. Styles determine winners and Mayweather Jr.'s style is EXACTLY the kind of style that would give him fits.

This sort of attitude is the reason that we don't get to see great fights. Floyd has fought nobody of note over 135 (barring maybe DLH) and you think by arguing that Floyd hasn't lost is testement to him being better than Duran!?!?!?!? I can think of 8 fighters that Duran has been in with that are easily better than anyone Floyd has fought (again DLH maybe excepted).

Although I disagree with your argument, it's also clear to see your posts lack any real intelligence.

Duran all day. He was relentless, powerful, had a jab, defense, stamina, and body punches. Floyd won't be able to move and pot shot him for 12 rounds or fight on the ropes because he would get punished to the body.

also take into account that he asks how they fare at 135, but can only use post 135 fights to explain why duran would lose. joke of the highest order.
