Foreman Hook, I think Tyson's chin isn't too much of an issue, really (though I think it's decent anyway). I don't see Earnie having the coordination to catch a bobbing and weaving Mike hard enough to stop him. If Tyson is careless, however, then yes, Earnie has the power to flatten him. I just think Tyson gets there first, being quicker and more coordinated.

Tyson does everything better than Earnie.

Shavers has some power and thats about it.

But judging by the way Tyson dealt with the more durable Ruddock, i dont see him having a problem with Earnie.....and that wasnt even a prime tyson

I see this going like Tyson vs Tubbs.....

They hit hard but they are not in the same tire as Shavers.Even George Foreman isn't in the same tier with Shavers.Nobody hit hard as Shavers.

****, the 1996 version of Tyson would most likely beat Earnie Shavers.
Shavers was good, but he fell short of the elite level. (probably not even A level!)
I mean, the guy was manhandled by Jerry Quarry, to his credit, Quarry was a slippery counter-puncher with fast and powerful hands, but he was no Mike Tyson.

    Tyson KO2

In the other 1/10 fights, Tyson gets a wide decision.

Bull****. Shavers had a bomb of a right hand, but saying that Foreman's not on the same power punching tier as Shavers is ****ing crazy.

Please, wake up. Shavers didn't even come close to dropping a way over the hill, close to being shot, damaged goods version of Ali!
He managed to bring Larry Holmes down, who got back up and won.

Earnie was a hard puncher but people (like you, no offence) elevate his punching power to that of a mythical essence. You act like nobody came close to punching as hard as him.

Ali said Shavers was the hardest puncher he fought, but he didn't say "Oh, Shavers' power was un-****ing-believable. He hit me and I saw a cyclops in a tutu dancing to Elvis Presley. Literally, I mean, my brain must have rebounded many times against my skull. My eyes popped out of my sockets and I pissed my pants. **** & feces were literally falling down my thighs and legs. It felt as if Zeus had struck with me a lightning bolt!"

I reckon that Muhammad thought that Earnie hit harder than George because he got tagged more often than he did against Foreman. Reason being that Ali was three years younger, fresher and more elusive back then.

    Good point.

Shavers probably landed 5 times more bombs to Ali's head in their 15 rounds together in '77, as Foreman did in 8 rounds in '74.

Ali, as great as he was, also stated that Spinks would school Tyson.

Huge knockout victory for Tyson within the first minute of the fight.
