Nah he didnt, i posted it on a thread a while back reagrding opinions on the fight. Taken from tysons autobiography. Ali defo picked Spinks
This :good There is a chance that Earnie could catch Tyson coming in like Tucker, but Earnie was a sh*t finisher and Tyson recovered well from those type of punches. Earnie wont be around for long. Yes Earnie has a big punch etc etc etc But Earnie doesnt have the chin or durability of a Holyfield, the height or reach advantage of a Lewis/Douglas. Earnie has nothing on Tyson.
most pick tyson because hes still fresh in your minds,it also tells how old most of you on here are.tyson may win but he it wouldn't be a first round ko i don't think.i think tyson even picks himself off the floor too
In order for Shavers, to have tyson picking himself off the floor, he would need to put a sustained beating on Mike and drop him in the later rounds. Problem is, Shavers wont be around for that long. He Doesnt have the jab/height of a Lewis or Douglas, doesnt have the chin or durabilty of a Holyfield. Shavers could never beat Tyson. he might beat Lewis, but never Tyson
No way does Mikey Tyson stop Shavers by KO1 like Jerry Quarry did, cos Quarry is a mint counter-puncher.
Foreman was a terrifying BEAST, he was scared of no man! Even a Old Foreman was so scary, Tyson And Bowe ducked him. :deal
Rather than making assumptions about my age or which fights I have seen, why don't you address my specific points directly? I never said that this would be a " first round KO", and have already addressed that Earnie's power would give him a puncher's chance. I simply wouldn't make him a favorite to do it, and for reasons that I think are valid.
I know, just screwing with the village idiot. Actually Tyson never ducked George. 1st attempt: "...In December promoter Don King offered Foreman $5 million to fight Tyson sometime in 1990. "He gave me a contract and told me to sign on the dotted line," says Foreman, who rejected the offer. "I was more afraid of Don King and the dotted line than I am of Tyson..." It was a power move that could well have left Holyfield with his crown, but with little opportunity to parlay it into another megabucks fight. However, the 42-year-old Foreman, whose gallant loss to Holyfield in April left him the heavyweight division's most popular figure, reportedly turned down a $20 million offer from King. Big George, it seemed, wanted a Holyfield rematch..." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...0013/index.htm 3rd Attempt "Tyson is scheduled to fight for a title in March. Foreman, who said he will retire after one more fight, is tentatively scheduled to meet Michael Moorer in March. Foreman has said he would like to fight Tyson, but not if King is involved in the promotion. King said he is confident that could be worked out. Foreman did not elaborate upon the reason he is against King, who is responsible for promoting the 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle" title fight in Zaire, West Africa, where he and Ali became the first fighters to receive $5 million each in an unprecedented guarantee. King, named "Greatest Promoter of All-Time" by the World Boxing Council, inspired President Mobuto Sese Seko's government to promote the first one-billion viewer fight spectacular between Ali and Foreman in Zaire's capital city, Kinshasha. The government guaranteed the $10 million which was split between Foreman and Ali, who regained his heavyweight title..." http://books.google.com/books?id=fTk...page&q&f=false The links should work. This highlights 3 separate occasions where a Foreman Tyson fight could have been made but politics and negotiations never amounted to anything other than talks. Incidentally it was Foreman who turned each and every offer down. So George was doing all the ducking. In the 2nd attempt, Tyson ended up getting a title shot with Holyfield but went to prison before it happened. When did George try to get a fight with Bowe? or are you just talking out of your ass as usual?
Foreman chatting a load of ****. He KNEW that Tyson and King were like hand in glove at the time. There was NO WAY he could get a Tyson fight WITHOUT King being involed. He had absolute no intention of fighting Tyson. Just an easy way to duck him. Its like Mayweather saying Ill fight Pacman as long as Freddie Roach aint in his corner.
