Chambers beats none of them, except maybe Rivas.

I've noticed a pattern on this forum. In these fantasy match-ups, users love to forecast a loss for Wilder against just about anyone, knowing that the discussed bout will never happen, anyway.

I didn't see many people forecasting Wilder to lose to the mediocre opposition he faced up until he faced Fury. Instead, they were all said to be bums and written off before they stepped in the ring.

Chambers is exactly the sort of opponent he would've lined up. Fast Eddie? More like Steady Eddie, beating up on absolute no hopers, much like Wilder did, but even more so. As I said in my previous post in this thread, he didn't get in the ring with anyone who had a semblance of a pulse until about 30 bouts in and his best win might be a 10 round MD win over past his prime Sam Peter. Chambers has an absolutely awful record.

And I say all of that as a bit of a fan of his.

None. . When you are that small you need power and legs to compete , he had neither.

Plus the losses to light heavy Adamek and cruiser weight Muchunu tell me he wouldn't beat the contenders around now , never mind the top guys.

No Ruiz`s hand speed would be too quick for Chambers to land without getting countered.

He might beat some of them. He's competitive, in my opinion, against Ruiz, Whyte, Parker, Rivas, Hunter.

Saying he couldn't beat several ranked guys today is grossly exaggerating the quality of the current HW division (which is dismal).

Painting that sorry pair down as his crowning achievements is a bit disingenuous (or ignorant, but it sounds like you're familiar enough with that era, so let's go with the former) - biggest name scalps, perhaps, but I wouldn't say they were truthfully his best.

Calvin Brock was a very good fighter, whose only really terrific win is over unbeaten Timur Ibragimov, but he also passed the old eye test dispatching his journeymen tests with flying colors and then acquitted himself as well as one could expect of anyone versus a peak Dr. Steelhammer. But for his body falling apart on him, the Boxing Banker could have hung around for a while as a top contender - and if you subtracted K2 he (like Chambers) could have worn a strap in some weak eras before and since.

Derric Rossy went on a decent run as walking truth serum and separating the contenders from the chaff for several years after Chambers stopped him to pop his cherry - and then decisively outpointed him in their eliminator rematch a few years later.

All told he held half a dozen wins over ranked (top 15) opposition: Dimitrenko, Brock, Guinn, Peter, Rossy I & II.

He also looked well on his way to springing the upset at the halfway mark against a prime Povetkin before inexplicably sheathing his jab for (and losing for) the rest of the contest.

And, like Brock, he didn't embarass himself versus WK at the height of his Kronked-up powers. Probably his most respectable challenges, aside from Tony The Tiger Thompson's two.

Very close, and was actually handling Sasha until he gave the fight away.

I'm iffy on Wilder, but fine, let's for the sake of argument say those three all definitely do.

    Absolutely not.

    Yep, alright, that's four.

    Maybe

    Maybe

    Maybe

I'd favor prime (pre- Peter Fury/idiotic, ill-advised drop down to cruiser) Eddie without hesitation over DD and Hughie.

This HW era will be remembered as such. They won't get much praise in the future.

Chambers at his best has a shot vs current Povetkin, Hunter, Whyte, Ruiz and Rivas

I don't rate Parker all that high and Ortiz is fading as well

Chambers is small, doesnt have the best activity and is not a dangerous puncher but he was a skilled and a well balanced fighter

Nonsense, The Tuscaloser is nothing more than a walking puncher's chance who cannot box or fight to save his life. He gets outboxed by fighters who can't box, Fast Eddie would have a field day boxing his ears off and making him look like the big uncoordinated gangling baffoon he is. He would just be too skillful for him and he'd give him a boxing lesson.

Eddie lasted into the dying seconds of the 12th against a prime and better version of Wlad than the one who dropped The Tuscaloser in the gym multiple times and hurt him so badly his legs were dancing to two different genres of music at the same time when he hauled his ass up off the canvas and that's the most flattering version of events for The Tuscaloser too.

Skills pay the bills and in this instance the skills would pay it in full.

He couldn't lay a glove on the statuesque AJ when the later did his peasant's impersonation of the Slick Gypsy style and he would be able to catch Fast Eddie's shadow with a handful of sand.

    :deal: :deal: :deal:

Fast Eddie would have provided the boxing lesson that Malik Scott would've if not for: his glass jaw, him being friends with Deontay and taking a dive for him, and/or c) finding a cushy spot on the canvas once the right hands started gittin' slanged.

..aka continue the lesson from Ortiz II (until the sixth), Fury I, and Szpilka through eight.

Exactly. Charlie Z stood up to a much harder left hook from The Tuscaloser than the one that dropped Scott. Fast Eddie's speed and slickness would cause him absolute nightmares.

Everyone says this sort of stuff in these match-ups that will never happen. I stand exactly by what I said in my previous post.

You're talking about Chambers as if he's Muhammas Ali, but he's a pumped up cruiserweight and once Wilder lands on his face that's it finished.

Klitschko also was stopped by Puritty, Sanders and Brewster. The "prime" (careful) version you're referring to also went 12 with Sam Peter (dropped thrice), Ibragimov, Haye, Wach, Povetkin and Jennings (or was he old overnight for that one? People were saying he was at his best vs Pulev but old vs Fury, so it depends what your agenda is). He went 11 with Thompson, 10 with past it Peter, 9 with Chagaev. It's hardly that big of an achievement. Klitschko went on a run of facing old or short boxers. Chambers fits nicely into that. A blown up chubby cruiserweight who was barely 6'.

If Chambers had such skills then why didn't he had any big wins? He beat nobody.

The preceding heavyweight era was considerably worse than this era, hence why Wladimir Klitschko went on a reign of terror over short or old no hopers, and bored everyone outside of Germany to tears. Vitali was the superior, and the division suffered when he made his first retirement with the knee injury. He was never the same afterward.

You know you're struggling when you start saying things like Calvin Brock was a very good boxer, and then in the next breath you're dismissing most of the division outside the current top 3. Brock was another one who never beat anyone with a pulse, an absolute pudding with a pumped up record.

And stood for a symbol of how poor and shambolic the heavyweight division is. The Boxing Banker didn't beat anyone with a pulse. His marquee wins are McLine (who was crap) and Ibragimov (the even crapper one). Just a bunch of no hopers with padded records squaring off.

Rossy was absolutely rubbish and beat up a bunch of people who virtually nobody would have heard of, mostly in 6 rounders and 8 rounders. How on this planet can you classify Rossy as a top 15 heavyweight? That is absolutely one of the funniest things I've seen on this forum. If he was actually down as a top 15 on one of the governing bodies at the time, then that's absolutely ludicrous and should be dismissed anyway. These governing bodies always put puddings high in their rankings to justify organising a bout, but that doesn't mean that they're actually a top 10 or 15 contender. If you're telling me that you think Rossy was a top 15 contender then you've definitely shown your hand.

The rest of the opponents are terrible, too, and even worse than Wilder's championship reign opposition. Wilder could spark all of them out on one night (I'm not even joking).

I reckon Chambers either loses to or has good chances to lose to: Gassiev, Takam, Hrgovic, Chisora, Yoka, Helenius, Wardley. There's probably a lot more I'd give a great chance against Chambers but I can't think just now.

Does he even beat a pro novice like Viktor Vykhryst?
