what do you mean bro, i think i only saw clips of this fight. I was in law school at this time and for the most part did not watch tv except sundays.

corrales kept pushing forward and was getting tagged. punished till the TKO if i remember it right.

if morales had made the jump earlier in his career, this would have been a good scrap in my opinion as morales will not also stalk pbf all night and will actually allow pbf to stalk him and vice versa.

this would have been an exciting fight in my opinion. sadly, morales did a lot of great work at 126. if he made the jump sooner when his body was still not battle worn, who knows.

since it's a prime for prime discussion I would say it's totally out of the question that Morales gets ravaged by Mayweather. He was too good. It would be close and I would have to favor Mayweather.

Would have been exciting, since it is Morales we are talking about.

But you know what, Mayweather was a beast here, almost a complete package of skills, power, and speed back then. Still a safety first fighter even then, but he had powers there so whenever he went on an offensive spree, it was not just for scoring points, he can knock them out.

    :good:good:good perfectly agree.

126 and 130 thought is not really that big a disparity.
one of the matchups i would have wanted to see.

im not a Floyd hugger. but i am a fan And floyd litteraly batters Em at 130 Agression in Em style is not the best waay to fight floyd you really need to be in his chest adn get him against the rope Em would be trying to Box/punch with POBF which is bad news for EM. PBF would be alot faster and more powerful. also has better foot movement and his jab was vicious. loo at corrales at 130 stalking him em wouldn't fair any better. a one punch KO no but a stoppage or a muliple knock down and then ko yes highly likley. bad styles match for Em his agression would be his down fall . and trying to countrpunch would get him picked apart.

Morales doesnt win a round if Floyd doesnt want him to.

    Late stoppage is a probability.

This discussion is about wether Morales makes it 12 rounds or doesnt. And rightfully so.

and pbf has a 100% KO rate at 130 lbs right?

while i admit pbf was trememdous at 130, he was not god. he had i think 5 fights which went the distance against mostly no name fighters. and you are saying that he can do that to an atg like morales.

pbf's biggest victim at 130 would be chico imo. chico was prime that time, undefeated.

but how would people rate chico vs. morales as an ATG or HOF.

morales in my opinion is miles apart from Chico. morales beat junior jones ass, the very same person who handed mab his first 2 defeats to the same fighter.

it just amuses me that people think of morales in the same level as manfredy, chico and the so so fighters KO by PBF.

heck, i would even rate morales above jlc. :bbb

Dude, you start this thread saying who wins Prime Morales vs Prime Mayweather at 130 pounds lol. Why you bringing up Junior Jones when that fight was at 126 pounds? At 130 pounds, Morales didn't bring his ko punch at all. Put it this way at 130 pounds, Morales punch was like feather fisted. Mayweather at 130 pounds beat Corrales, Hernandez, Chavez.

    I said its probable.

The problem for Morales is that we know his aggressive style will work against him. If he decides to box, he loses a competitive match while giving a good account of himself. If he stays as aggressive as he usually is, it gets ugly for him.

dude, 126 and 130 is just 4 pounds away. are you saying that it was physically impossible for morales to bring that way up.

i have always stated that morales stayed too long in 126. if he could have gone up sooner to 130, i am sure his power would have been there also.

he sent diaz to the canvas with one shot at 135 and we are talking about the way past prime morales here.

to insist that morales had no power at 130 lbs is not really logical for me. at 130, he already started to decline yet still retained the power. look at how pac winced everytime he got tagged by an EM uppercut.

just imagine if EM went up to 130 when he was around 25 years old.

this is a much more logical assessment. in previous post, i said that morales should also try to coax pbf, the bigger man to stalk him.

morales should not be aggressive whole fight as this will work against him. speed wise, pbf has the advantage here.

but it will be a good scrap i am sure, not some beatdown like most pbf fans expected.

Did Morales knock any fighters down at 130 pounds? Hell no. Morales punch was no where to be found that was clear as day. Yea Morales knockdown Diaz is not surprising Cause Diaz is not a real good fighter in which is why Pacquiao wanted to fight Diaz so damn bad go figure.
