IMO, that shouldn't pull Morales lower the scale due to the fact that Raheem was a lightweight contender and Morales fought him in his first fight at 135.

While his trilogy with Pac happened at 130.

Pac in my opinion is almost like Roy Jones.....in the sense that they are such exteme talents that they are able to dominate not based on an abundance of skill but on their god given gifts...speed, reflexes ect...

Pac has many layers to his skill set....he's no longer one dimensional. When age catches up to Pac.....like it did with Roy...the decline won't be gradual.....it will happen over night....I know Pac has slowed down a little, but not enough to end up like Roy.

Erik was a special fighter.....his heart and determination....mental fortitude.....Let's just say he was a real fighter with the mentality that set him apart.....not to mention he was a very skilled and technical boxer capable of handling himself against anyone in or around his weight class.

With that said.....Pac has progressed gradually....he still has the same foundation that he always had but there are new dimensions that were not there 12 yrs ago. The angles, the lateral movement....a full arsenal of punches.....he's a more dynamic fighter than he was.....but today he's also more distracted....it may cost him down the line if he can't regain his focus.

I'm more of the school of thought that the Pacquiao I fight, while he won, ended whatever semblance of "prime" he had left, especially given that Round 12 punishment

I know but he did get dropped from the ratings after Raheem. He looked woeful

At least you see my point.

Well, I won't deny that he looked "terrible" that time out. However, his recent success at 140 (and a debatable loss to David Diaz) in my opinion raises the stock more with Pac's win.

nah, morales was a beast back in 122/126 but pacquiao @140 is just on another level. prime for prime and even p4p, pac would beat him.

Pac at 140 was weighing in the same when he was fighting at 130 on fight nights.

What was the difference? He was fighting a dude who had a **** trainer and couldn't take a punch at 140. :yep

as soon as pacquiao learned to use his right hook and became a two-fisted fighter, morales would never beat him again. morales even was punished by a one-handed, pre-prime pacquiao who just moved-up from 126 that time.

i don't get why people are bringing raheem up. morales is disinterested in that fight that he ddin't trained his ass off, missed the weight even if it is at 132. morales was partying and going on holidays after the first pac fight.

Pacquiao was landing a bunch of hooks on Morales in the first bout. The reason they weren't telling or very noticeable is because they weren't hurting the Iron Chinned Warales.
