A lot of lower weight fighters hit prime very early and end up having big weight problems. like morales did once he could no longer make 126 (his prime weight) and had to move up to the higher weights as his prime left him. The wars with Barrera twice, Chi, Mccollough, Raheem, Jamill, Espadas took too much out of him. Not to mention him beating up Pac in the first bout.
Pac hadn't yet peaked when he fought Borales. The Pac that beat Cotto is IMO the best version of Pac. 144lbs. Pointless comparison.
That was my question... Are we discussing a prime Pac vs a prime EM? At 122 or 126? Or a PRIME Erik vs the version of Pac who fought @ 122 or 126?....becuase my answer depends on how you answer.
Define poor. What would you have expected him to do to these fighters? Blow them all out in the first few rounds. He beat Lazscano and Urango easily. Saying he had problems with Laszcano is like saying Martinez had problems with Chavez, They landed big punches after being destroyed for the rest of the fight. Collazo was a tough fight at a new weight. He won the fight. Paulie was ranked no.2 in his division and he just annihilated him. Just because a guy doesnt look crazy spectacular in all his fights doesnt mean hes past prime.
Pac came into the ring at 144 during his SFW days. Morales beat pac when pac weight 140 during fight night, not much of a difference from 144. I don't think pac ever had problems with the weight as well so I don't see why pac weighing 144 changes anything. Also, pac's new skills were only minor improvement. We all saw that when Marquez whipped his ass again at 144 in 2011, when pac allegedly improved vastly since his featherweight days.
A PRIME Erik Morales vs Manny Pacquiao (Prime or not)? How about The Prime Manny Pacquiao that fought Hatton of say 140 pounds?
The Best Pacquiao was probably around the time he fought Hatton & Cotto in the higher Weight Classes.
