Pacquaio and Mayweather are a level above anything Spence has ever shown, again Spence has not beaten any top tier Welterweights to suggest he can hang with either of them.

Yes he's tough but still lost all of his big fights, it's a solid win for Spence but nothing spectacular and certainly nowhere near as good as win over a prime Cotto would be.

Mosley wasn't at his peak but was still a very formidable opponent he was coming off wins over Vargas, Collazo, and then went on to destroy Margarito in one of his best performances of his career after losing to Cotto.

Clottey was considered the boogeyman of the Welterweight division at one time, he's a huge Welterweight with fantastic countering abilities and a great defence. Yes at times his output can be low but he was still a very formidable opponent.

Judah had recently give Mayweather one of the toughest fights of his career and was rated top 5 Welterweight, i don't think he was "past his prime" quite as much as your suggesting. There was certainly no evidence of it in his previous outing vs Mayweather or his ranking of number 5.

Well if you think that then i don't see how you think Spence is elite then, there's nothing in his resume to suggest he's anything other than very good as of right now. There's no one on Spence's resume that Cotto wouldn't of beat other than Spence's upcoming fight of course, but most people seem to siding with Crawford in that one. Lets see how Spence fares against Crawford then we can have this discussion again.

Crawford is actually my favorite fighter today but I’m not sure if he can handle THIS Spence. I watched his fight against Brook last night and Brook was landing some big shots that I believe if coming from Spence would’ve done more damage. He takes too long to find his rhythm sometimes and Spence is all gas from the giddy up. Hopefully I’m wrong because he’s my guy. But yes, we can revisit this Spence/Cotto discussion after Crawford/Spence. We can agree to disagree for now because we’re clearly not on the same page.

I'll take Cotto pre-Margarito I over any version of Spence. Cotto went on to have a good career but that fight really did ruin him IMO.

Cotto can’t deal with pressure fighters and Spence is one who also happens to be fundamentally sound. To me there’s no path to victory for Cotto. When Cotto fought Mosley he abandoned his original style to box Mosley who at point could be beaten by a stiff jab and move approach. In the Margo rematch he was was getting gassed and probably would have lost that fight if the ref didn’t stop it. Now imagine Errol Spence who’s faster than Margarito, has great boxing fundamentals, bigger than Manny and a southpaw. All signs point to Cotto being physically and mentally broken.

When people use a fighter as pedestrian as Ugas to demonstrate greatness in Spence, the argument has big problems.

Until Spence fights more better guys, I gotta go with Cotto. Cotto fought guys that could beat him. Often. Spence is afraid to lose his zero so he doesn't fight often and his opposition are names nobody knows.

Everything you just said about Spitz should be applied to Crawford

Spence via Late Stoppage. Looks similar to the Kell Brook fight.
