Watch them sparring on youtube. Tua was helping Holyfield in his preparation for Tyson - the reason why it was so easy for Holyfield to crack Tyson. Also, Tua had very good game inside, devastating hook, he was smart, could throw a lot of punches and stay active for 12 rounds, he was defensively aware and possessed one of the greatest chin in boxing - We saw all that in the Ibeabuchi fight which is the testimony of both fighters greatness. Interestingly, I think Ibeabuchi and Holyfield share similar styles as well. I think Ibeabuchi is a notch over Holyfield the same way Tua is a notch over Tyson. Ibeabuchi won a UD over Tua but it was a tight and difficult fight, some believe Ibeabuchi started to be mentally unstable, see things and hear voices which ultimately got him in the trouble that sent him to jail.

Holyfield by split decision but could go either way. After the fight he goes crazy and rapes his mom.

    This.
While Holy is no Chris Byrd who schooled him, neither is Byrd a real-deal hitter. Unless it was already mentioned, Holy gave gr8 xample of how Tua punched around- not straight.
How he KO'd Ruiz so clean, looping shots, that's Holy 101 Defense. The shots that hurt him from Bowe was a big man who could throw short punches inside.
Holy wins a comfortable fashion but has some hot moments simply because he will oblige a fight.

    THX!! never knew this existed.

I typed the above before I saw this, but will let it be as is.

    Holyfield for decision: 80%
    Holyfield for KO: 20%

Holy: experience + chin + heart + combos
    Tua < Tyson < Holyfield

Lots of people here sleeping on Tua.
At his absolute best, Tua is a hard hitting volume puncher that carried his power through 12 rounds. He and Ike broke the record for most punches thrown in a heavyweight fight. Tua's chin is god tier.

Holyfield, in his prime, was not hard to drag into a brawl. Holyfield learned to stick to a fight plan when he was past his prime. Holyfiled's chin is great, but he's been hurt and dropped numerous times by much lighter hitters than Tuaman.
Holyfiled greatest weapon, headbutts, will be neutralized, because anyone whoever watched wrestling knows there is on rule that hold true...never EVER headbutt a Samoan! lol

I think if this fight goes the distance, it's a CLOSE decision for whoever wins. Yes, I think a Tua by decision is a possibility due to the high volume of punches that will be thrown and the possibility of him dropping Holyfield.

It's a tough call, but I'm picking Tua.

    Tua never a title.
    Holy 4 titles almost 5.

Tua would win only with a lucky bomb. Evanders chin is underrated.

True Evander is way more accomplished than Tua. Evander is absolutely an all around better fighter. But this is head to head, and styles make fights.
As for Holy's chin. I'd say his chin is overrated. He's been stopped and dropped by guys who were not bombers. He's knock-out-able.

Overrated? Holys chin was better than McCalls one imo. McCall only sparred with Tyson and faced Lewis one time (the second was a Mel Brooks movie). Holyfield took bombs from all the best punchers and he rarely went down.

I would hazard a guess that about 90% of US Boxers were roided up to the gills in the 90's. Evan Fields almost transformed species going up from Light Heavy to Heavy. Jesus Christ, his entire head increased in size by about half, he probably had enough growth hormone inside him, I'm surprised he didn't give birth!

Having said all that, Holyfield at his best was one hell of a fighter and entertained more than most.

How about if Tua started going to the same pharmacy as Holy for the year leading up to the fight?

Holyfield was really hurt against bert cooper. That holyfield loved to get in wars. Big mistake against tua, who at that time was at his peak throwing monster punches, like against ike.

If they fought during those years, tua would have knocked out a brave holyfield who wanted to exchange.

However a more mature holyfield beats a more mature tua if they fought years later.

So just a matter of when they fought.
