That may be true, and hell yes i believe holy would go through a war with either brother, but that said.....in his prime, he still beats both of them....
Holy was a tremendous fighter, but he wasn't unbeatable. He had huge trouble with the likes of Bert Cooper and could be beat (Bowe, Moorer). For me it's a pick 'em.
I think that even a prime Holyfield would have had a tremendous problem with Wladimir in particular. Holyfield has not done the best with bigger skilled heavyweights ie Bowe, Lewis. Wladimir is faster than either of those guys and just as skilled. A bad combination for the smaller Holyfield.
I see Evander giving Vitali a lot of problems by mid fight. He would close the gap and make Vitali fight
Holy wasn't robbed and the heart problems later turned out to have been misdiagnosed...unless you believe that this evangelical cured him. A prime Evander was outboxed against an in shape Moorer and later KO'ed a fat Moorer. And Lewis won twice against Evander, the rematch only happened due to a robbery in the first fight. In the second, Lewis still landed 100 more punches and that was the close fight between them. And no, I don't know that Lewis is classes above the Klitschkos, Steward doesn't think so. I rate Lewis very, very highly, at 3 on my ATG list in terms or resume at HW and probably at 1 in terms of H2H. Still, the Klitschkos are close to him, not as good against some type of opponents, but better against others. Wlad might have had more trouble with Ruddock but would have always annhiliated any version of Mercer. I do think both Klitschkos would have KO'ed Mavrovic.
:rofl Wladimir is good at what he does BUT he is NOT more skilled than either of them, Bowe was a very good inside fighter, and while inside fighting was not what Lewis was about he was decent at it, Wlas has not demonstrated said ability.
I think Holy would probably beat Wlad but he would be given major problems and would def. be behind in rounds. I think Holy would do better against Vitali in terms of the fight being more competitive but Vitali has an iron chin. Vitali vs Holy would easily be fight of the year I would have died to see it.
Evander in his prime .. stops both brothers. The division is SO SHITTY that Evander is still fighting. That says it all.
Voted decision for Holy but I feel he could possibly stop Wlad. Not tryin to be a hater but I really dont see why people are voting for the klits.
I rank Holyfield higher than both Klitschko brothers, but in my opinion head to head it's not so clear cut. Holyfield always struggled with the bigger heavyweights and in terms of style the Klitschko's would pose serious problems for the much smaller Holyfield. People like to point out how Holyfield did against Lewis in the second fight but quite happily ignore the fact that he was dominated by Lewis in the first fight and lost twice to another super heavyweight in Bowe. The old adage goes "styles makes fights" and based on that I'd favour both Klitschko's to beat Holyfield on points.
Prime Evander stops Wlad by mid round stoppage, and Vitali by late rounds retirement on cuts or injury.
We're talking about PRIME Holyfield. Only PRIME Bowe beat PRIME Holyfield in their first fight. Do you honestly think Wlad could beat that version of Evander? He was fast, powerful, relentless and had a great chin. Wlad cannot win a FIGHT - only matches where he completely dominates while taking hardly anything back. He would be in a serious fight with prime Holyfield, and no way would he stand up to the punches for 12 rounds. NO WAY ON EARTH.
Prime Vitali has a definite chance but I still favor Prime Holyfield to land enough to cause enough damage to force a late Vitali retirement. Shoulder injury like the Chris Byrd fight or cuts like the Lewis fight or something else.
50/50. Stylistically it favors either brother tremendously. Holyfield was easy to hit, and Lewis hurt him on more than one occasion, as did Bowe, and Tyson buzzed him. I rank Wlad's power on that tier, so big Wladimir punches would have Evander damaged. Stylewise, its a Klitschko wipeout. But Evander was so strongminded, so hard of heart, that he finds a way to beat any heavyweight in history atleast 1 time out of ten. I truly believe that. So I'll say they both take 5 out of 10. Prime Holyfield was impressive in toughness, skill, will, and guile only at heavyweight. His power wasn't remarkable, and his skills were shown to be erratic depending on who he was fighting. He'd go from brilliant, like Bowe II or Mercer, to amateurish against Moorer, Bowe I, or Cooper. Boxing, cagey, strongminded Holyfield stands a great chance. Violence minded, no head movement slugging Holyfield gets his ass handed to him.
