'Landed against better fighters' ignores styles though. There are plenty of better fighters than Wlad who are far easier to hit. If you aren't taking this sort of thing into account that makes it seem like you are just comparing resumes. Being able to land on Manny Pacquaio doesn't mean you are going to land on Floyd Mayweather Ibragimov gave up during that fight. Keeping him away was the opposite of what Wlad was trying to do On the subject of Ibragimov, I was going to make a cheap remark about Ibragimov beating Holyfield then losing to Wlad, but I wont stoop Its ages since I watched that fight, but Lewis is far more prone to mix it up than the Klitschkos. Neither of the K's would risk fighting Holyfield on his terms, you can bet they'd keep him at a comfortable distance every second of the fight if they're capable of it. I just feel like both of them could keep him at bay long enough over 12 rounds to take the decision
Bowe was simply too big for Evander, both Klits are taller and in better condition than Bowe ever was, that being said. Vitali beats him in a war. Holy beats Wlad in a very close contest.
I told you, that it doesn't matter when you defeat your opponent. If it takes a Klitschko 10 rounds to take out fighter A whereas LL finished him off inside 5 rounds doesn't make LL necessarily twice as good. That's exaggerated. Lewis won both rounds, true, but neither of them hang on for dear life in any of the rounds. Evander got a gift decision in their first fight, remember? Nobody can tell how the Vitali - LL fight would have carried on but have you seen Lennox Lewis be dominated like in rounds 2 and 3 against Vitali in the Holyfield fight? You prefer talking about rounds 5 and 6 where Vitali fought one-eyed and still managed to withstand one of the most vicious uppercuts I've ever seen. Not only did this prove his chin but also his heart so I'd say Vitali is not tremendously inferior in these aspects in comparison to Holy. Well, I'm not intending to derail the thread although I really feel like it. I'm just saying you're treating me like something I'm not, namely a klitnuthugger. I don't deny Lewis' victory over Vitali, I don't discredit Holyfield's achievements in the heavyweight division and I rate both, Holy and Lewis, over both Klitschkos but it's very apparent that the style the Klits have developed would have been very effective against Holyfield. Of course it's only speculation and I believe that's what this thread is about. Acting like the Klits could not hang out with the big guys is ridiculous. Vitali was quite good against LL, wasn't he? Wladimir has never faced an opponent half as good as him which is unfortunate but image a soccer team playing in the second divison, beating every team with five goals difference and more - I guess quality wise they'd belong in the first division, right? It's bad luck for Wlad that the first division for heavyweights is not existant for now.
-Briggs is always Briggs, a limited strong man with bad stamina. Lewis foolishly brawled Briggs and got into a couple hairy situations, hardly a humilation. Of course Wlad was active in the same era, he dominated and KOed McCline...who was coming off a total domination of Grant and Briggs himself. Kind of shoots this weird theory to **** doesn't it? Jameel McCline's stock in the heavyweight division keeps rising, while Shannon Briggs keeps leaving his potential unfulfilled. In a battle between boxers headed in different directions, McCline (28-2-2) won an impressive unanimous 10-round decision last night over Briggs (36-4-1) in the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Showing superior hand speed and an excellent jab, McCline was never in trouble and controlled the fight from the early stages. All three judges scored the fight, 99-90, in favor of McCline. The only knockdown came midway through the sixth round, and it was Briggs who fell. McCline decked Briggs with a left-right-left combination to the head that sent Briggs onto his back. Briggs showed he could take a punch, rising at the count of five, and looking steady the rest of the round. But McCline controlled the fight with a crisp left jab that kept Briggs on the defensive. Briggs could land only one punch at a time, but McCline put punches together. McCline has not lost since 1996, and he said he feels he is moving closer to a shot at the heavyweight title. WTF is this messy crap? The poll allows you to select Evander or "Klitschko" by either decision or KO. WHICHKO?
Bowe was an outstanding inside fighter for a big man, but that was somewhat of an advantage for Holyfield because that meant the bigger Bowe was engaging him on terms in which Holyfield could also hit him. Wladimir is not an inside fighter, but he is one of the best outside fighters ever! He would not let Holyfield easily get close to him and would make him eat lots of punches for every inch he wants to come inside.
