    Ron Lyle
    Earnie Shavers
    Mac Foster

Could he go 3-0 or is the 185 pound Charles too small?

He should be a narrow favorite over all of them.

That doesn't necessarily mean 3-0, and it frequently doesn't.

When was Ezzard's prime exactly? Not being sarcastic, I'm serious... years?

They all had enough power to clip Charles. But they have to catch him clean and the saying was easier than the doing when it came to prime Charles.

I'd favour Ezz against both Acorn and The Knife. He gets troubled the most by Lyle, and he could lose by a knockdown. Lyle was both brain and brawn. With Shavers, I see Ezz going on the defensive once he gets hit and he wins either by a decision or by a merciful TKO once the ref sees Earnie tiring out. Foster was of middling skill, and I can see Ezz running circles around him. In a trilogy, I'd go 1-2 against Lyle, 2-1 against Shavers, 3-0 against Foster.

Yes, and he definitely demonstrated that by being shut out by Jimmy Young twice.

Did he drive Elmer to the airport to see him off to his flight?

Ok, now that I think about it... I'm starting to think Lyle is overrated a tad bit. Watched Lyle-Young 1 (couldn't watch 2, didn't have time) and by God does he look sloppy sometimes, he just tries to land rights without setting up. What'd make for an interesting match is Ezzard vs Young.
