Most laughably overrated heavyweight on here. Zero ring IQ, and ability to adjust. You'd think he'd have learned his lesson after being laughably embarrassed the first time, only to do even worse in the rematch, which I didn't know was possible.

Foster showed some decent ring IQ against Quarry. Despite a losing effort it was one of his best performances.

Shavers' ring IQ was arguably worse than Lyle's. Lyle would've never lost to a Stallings. However Shavers also did much better against Young in the rematch (even if he was fortunate to get a draw) the fight before Young embarrassed Lyle. But I can't help but think, that might've been due to Shavers' absurd power rather than ability to keep up with Young.

 

That’s a trio who Ezzard Charles should have no issues figuring out.

 

Lyle’s heroic losing effort to George Foreman is primarily why he’s so heavily remembered. Take away Foreman’s 15 month layoff and it’s quite possible he’d rarely make any threads today
