Who is the ultimate lightweight and welterweight in today's generation of boxers? Is it Felix "Tito" Trinidad or Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Who would win a fight between them?

For a time Tito was seemingly undefeatable and challenged the best fighters of today. He moved up weight by weight to challenge the champions in each division with an unstoppable determination much the same way that Alexander the Great did when he went off to conquer Persia and northwestern India. His talent, determination, and strength was finally matched when he went up against Bernard Hopkins, perhaps the ultimate symbol of today's generation of boxers.

This is a poll by the way. So please vote.

Mayweather has never been punished like Tito would punish him. Tito's punch would come out the other side of Mayweather's head! :nut

I figure this is a prime for prime question at welterweight. Even at 154 Tito wins by ko.

Outside of DLH Floyd has fought nobody compared to Tito!:rofl:rofl:rofl

Floyd can't punch, unless you weigh as much as his little sister.

    Tito is a big welterweight.

But guys like Wright and Hopkins were able to school him pretty comprehensively.

I don't think Wright and Hopkins are out of Mayweather's league, but obviously they were pretty far removed from his weight class.

An old Oscar, who anyone would agree had seen his best days a long time ago, took Mayweather to a split decision.

Hopkins and Wright didn't just outbox Trinidad, they were forced to meet him punch for punch and stand with him.

I don't think Mayweather has the frame or for that matter the physical strength to pull off such a feat, prime for prime.

In a situation where Mayweather attempted to purely box Trinidad, he would soak up too much punishment, and either end up losing a decision by trying to survive, or end up losing by TKO.

If they fight at Welter i would go with Tito, but only slightly. People tend to forget that Tito hand good hand and foot speed at that weight.

And Hopkins, Wright and Jones Jnr where/are naturally bigger fighters than Tito, where as Floyd isnt.

Tito at Welterweight was quite excellent, Floyd at Welterweight has not been impressive on the level Tito was.

Sure, Tito can't deal with a good tactical boxer, but look at the qualities the guys who beat him had with size, power, or just basic stylistic nightmare's,

Floyd's a lot smaller, his power won't bother Tito and Tito's jab at Welter was very good and more than enough to set up his own work on Floyd.

    Tito by knockout, for certain.

When has Floyd taken a KO shot from a REAL prime KO puncher at either 140 or 147? I seem to remember him clearly getting wobbled by Corley and clearly getting stunned by Judah, neither of whom can punch in the stratosphere than Trinidad could.

Nice insult of Pernell, one of the best fighters ever.

You Joy Boy fans get on my nerves with your idiocy.

Thats what I'm talking about. Never.
And Tito hwo couldn't hurt overdosed Whitaker, would not get a chance to hit today's Floyd . Therefore he'd lose by UD.:good

Kind of helps that he hasn't faced a real Welter or even Junior Welter puncher. Judah is the biggest puncher, whom was also capable of landing on him when they fought, that he's faced.

A sloppy, near-shot, inactive DLH couldn't land anything of note of course, but a prime one certainly would and I'd pick him by TKO also.

You Joy Boy fans seem to forget how much he struggled with Castillo, then think that Tito wouldn't be landing on him?

Hell mate, Tito's better than Castillo in a P4P sense, I'll assure you this.

As a matter of fact Tito is a piece of cake for Mayweather. Someone already said it he is more of a fighter than a boxer.

It would smth like FM vs Castillo II or even FM vs Coralles.

ODLH with his boxing skills is a tougher opponent for Floyd.
