I gotta say Mayweather just because Jones took more chances. Jones had insane ability possibly more then any fighter in history but his leaping in and out style could lead to him getting caught and KO'd. Lou De Valle proved this by the way he caught and dropped Jones even though being out classed for most of the fight.

Jones probably always had a weak chin. Floyd had no explicit weaknesses in his prime.

your weaknesses wont you show up when you fight bum after bum after bum that wont be able to capitalize on it.

    skills= competition.

you fight bums, you are superman.

    Have to say Mayweather

Jones did move to Heavyweight. 160-200 so thats about 40 pounds
Mayweather went from SFW (130) to Junior Middleweight (154) so thats 24 pounds

Whilst Jones did put on more weight, he didnt fight the keys fighters at those weights

160 - Hopkins - Challenger at the time, Drew his next fight and then picked up the vacant belt in a rematch

168 - James Toney - IBF Champ. WBC/WBO Champs Benn/Eubank/Collins didnt get a fight and niether did WBA champ Frankie Liles

175 - WBO Champion Michaelzweski was never fought

    200 - Skipped the division

200+ - Fought weakest champion in John Ruiz, Lennox Lewis held all other major belts

the thing with Jones is that if you hit him, you had a chance but sadly most of the guys he fought bar Toney/Hopkins were good enough to catch him

With Mayweather he at least fought the top competition most of the time and with his ring IQ and style he is much harder to figure out. he takes the chance out of beating him

    130 - Hernandez, Coralles
    135 - Castillo 2x
    140 - Gatti
147 - Hatton, Ortiz, Mosley, Judah, Baldomir, Marquez
    154 - Delahoya, Cotto, Alvarez

People jib him for not fighting Pacquiao/Margarito but regardless whose fault it was be it mayweathers or Arums you cant deny he has fought and dominated a lot of noticeable fighters in his time as compared to Jones who didnt fight most of the big names til he was on the slide.

How much **** would Mayweather had got had he moved up to 154 to fight Yuri Foreman, Carlos Molina, Bundrage instead of Alvarez/Cotto?

I agree. Look at the Klitschkos for example. I don't see how this correlates with Floyd though?

Joens ! He did it against much better much competition !

Roy outclassed 2 first ballot hall of famers in their prime with ease ! Those 2 wins alone trumps anything Mayweather had done !

Jones beating prime Tony and Hopkins ALONE Trumps anything Floyd has ever done!!! Jones was the real deal, floyd a manipulated career beating washed up greats or b-c rated fighters. Jones was exciting to watch also, floyd is a snoozefest

gotta go with Jones, Money probably has fantastic skills but hes never tested them against the very best, Jones did.

but thing is the PEDs thing removes him from that pedestal and puts him level on with money may, so the difference is academic, they both found ways of cheating fans.

must suck to be a *****. floyd's entire career not even enough for a jones-hopkins type of fight.

id put jmm ko over pac over floyd's entire career too.

that is how thin floyd's resume is.

it is like being an actor: al pacino (the godfather), de niro (raging bull).

floyd is the type of actor that will win lifetime achievement award as consolation prize for his contribution.

    no defining fight, no award.

Is this supposed to be an objective comparison?

This post can be ripped to shreds.
