I dont think it is. Names are just names.

Shawn Porter - at the time Bud fought him - was a better win than Mosley when Floyd fought him.

Postol - when Bud fought him - was a better win than Hatton when Floyd fought him.

Gamboa - when Bud fought him - was better than Maidana when Floyd fought him.

Buds performance versus Spence was better than Floyds performance over Cotto especially at the time when Floyd fought Cotto. Hell, Bud dominated and stopped Spence - a fighter who had never been KD - who was a Top 5 P4P fighter at the time. When Floyd beat Canelo, in a virtuoso performance, Canelo was nowhere in the P4P rankings so again Bud's performance versus Spence could've topped Floyd's versus Canelo even.

Floyd wins this fight clearly in my mind, though it would be fairly competitive. Although Crawford is amongst the best in this era, he would find out very quickly what it is like to be in the ring with an all-time great who would be competitive with anyone in history.

I'm not (or was not in Mayweather's case) a fan of either, but I suppose I like Crawford more. Anyhow I genuinely think Crawford could pose Mayweather serious problems; he has a combination of: speed, power, freakishly long arms, control of distance and ring craft. If it was a contest between Crawford and Floyd "Pretty boy" Mayweather at the lower weights then I would strongly favour Mayweather, but Crawford against "Money" Mayweather at welterweight would be very competitive; Crawford's longer reach would mean Mayweather couldn't simply potshot him, and I don't think his patented shoulder roll would be effective against an offence as intelligent and varied as Crawford's.

You're not being honest here at all.

Mosley was coming off one of the best performances of his career in years destroying Margarito and was P4P top 3.

Porter was semi retired and would retire after the Crawford fight.

Not only was Mosley a top 3 P4P fighter and considered a better opponent he's achieved way more than Porter ever did as a professional. Hence there's absolutely no basis for rating Porter over Mosley as a better win.

Hatton was 43-0 and a top 10 P4P fighter how is Postol considered a better win than Hatton ? I'm not understanding your logic.

Gamboa was a blown up 5'4 Super Featherweight who had no business fighting at Lightweight and it was a total mismatch in size.

But why are you comparing Maidana to Gamboa in regards to wins ? Why not mention any of Mayweather's better wins like Corrales for example ? which is easily a much better win than beating Gamboa.

    Mayweather has....

    Diego Corrales
    Jose Luis Castillo
    Angel Manfredy
    Genaro Hernandez
    Jesus Chavez
    DeMarcus Corley
    Arturo Gatti
    ODLH
    Ricky Hatton
    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Miguel Cotto
    Canelo Alvarez
    Manny Pacquiao
    Andre Berto
    Marcos Maidana
    Robert Guerrero
    Zab Judah
    Shane Mosley
    Victor Ortiz

    Crawford has....

    Israil Madrimov
    Errol Spence
    Shawn Porter
    Kell Brook
    Amir Khan
    Jeff Horn
    Julius Indongo
    John Molina Jr
    Viktor Postol
    Thomas Dulmore
    Ray Beltran
    Yuriorkis Gamboa
    Ricky Burns
    Breidis Prescott
    Jose Benavidez Jr
    David Avanesyan

Mayweather has beaten 6 top 10 P4P fighters.

Crawford has beaten 1 top 10 P4P fighter.

    Mayweather's resume---> Crawford's resume.

    Clear as day.

Mayweather chose his opponents carefully by the watch and by moving them up as that weak as list above shows ^

Crawford is far more old skool and game to fight the best. Bud would whoop him. They both are runners but Bud doesn't run as much as Floyd.

At 147, I would favor Bud. Bud is the bigger guy, had much more power at the weight and his skills are on par with Floyd.

Floyd was the better fighter despite choosing his opponents carefully...

It would've been an incredible spectacle because we have 2 ATG fighters who ALWAYS find a way to win. Floyd was more selective and surgical, and made sure he had everything in his favor going into the fight, but prime vs prime would've been Bud's toughest fight by a landslide. Spence and Canelo are both A-grade wins but they are defensively poor compared to Floyd. I voted Floyd and it made the poll 50/50 with 70 votes tallied, shows how thin it is between them. Two legends of the sport.

Canelo needed to use the jab more, and he decided not to bother implementing the bread-and-butter punch against Crawford. I think Mayweather would have good success with the jab, but I think it would be a close fight between Mayweather and Crawford, and I couldn't say with 100 percent certainty either man would beat the other.

No one over the age of 21 would vote for Floyd. In my ATG thread that I created this morning I note the boxer of the moment is the greatest boxer ever. Well, Bud IA a great fighter, best of the Lower weight boxers (under LHW) but Floyd in his time beats Bud 9 timed out of ten.

What's certain is that Mayweather would never want to fight him. Crawford is Mayweather's worst possible matchup: southpaw, a much longer reach than him, power. Mayweather's advantages disappear.

Floyd ducking and ageing him sounds reasonable. But assuming they fought:

Floyd was quicker with everything. Handspeed, head movement, feet. He also had a really great chin and conditioning. And one of the best ring iqs ever.

So I imagine crawford being one of his hardest fights, because of his blend of iq, punching power and timing, but I would expect Mayweather to win it.

Crawford doesn't have a longer reach
