What happened in the real world was that Patterson had a weaker list of potential challengers to choose from, and he avoided the more dangerous ones.

He also had a few wobbles along the way, which included some losses.

I doubt that he manages a clean run against this crop, assuming that he gets there in the first place.

Walcott would either UD or KO Patterson.

The biggest threat to Patterson might actually come when he challenges Walcott for the title.

I think it is very likely that Walcott takes him out.

Obviously in that scenario he doesn’t get very far.

Stylistically, the shopworn, ancient Walcott is his easiest match-up. I see both fights ending before the 4th and frankly the first fight to be a career ender for Walcott. Patterson's power was closer to Marciano's than most will admit and Patterson got there a lot quicker and could double and triple up faster.

Patterson runs the table and breaks only a modest sweat.

This is the Walcott of the second Marciano fight, hence the term "challengers".

See "Challengers " in the title of the thread.

I think only Charles of the first Marciano fight can be given a 50/50 chance.
Against that version of Moore ,I would make Floyd a 60/40 favourite.

It's puzzled me as well mate!

I'm not sure what i wanted to say, whether i was attempting to be witty or whether i actually felt that way about a certain matchup.

I'm just gonna chalk it up as an L lol

Walcott 2 was just as good a fighter as Walcott 1. Marciano just caught him early.
