DO you guys realize that most people sticking up for PBF are people with under 100 posts??
Does this mean that either they dont have the balls too do it under their real name or that its just those completely new idiotic newbies??

PBF does not get hit flush by fighters now because he is pretty fast compared to whats out there TODAY!! SRL is a ****en legend and had much greater speed than TODAYs average fighter.

    SRR would decapitate PBF.

NOOBS please just think before you make these stupid threads..

this is the best post on here....please if you love boxing and are fans like you say people stop witht he outlandish outcomes....Floyd is damn good and honestly would hold his own against MANY ATG's will he win dont know could he win dont know but i do know he holds his own because like fighters of the old floyd uses his mental strenght that most fighters today just dont have...its not so much the abilities as we have seen hit before hurt before rioughed up before its his mental boxing ability that sets him apart because he can adjust in mid-fight and use so many different techniques to win....like fighters of the past...he definitely holds his own against most if not all if we keep the weights in prospective.

So I should be judged based upon how long I've been a member on a FORUM, rather than on the quality of my posts and the reasoning behind what I'm posting. And off hand I would rather pay attention to someone who actually posts some CONTENT rather than just complaining about the post count of people in the thread.

Hell one person posting on this thread only has 800 posts himself, and has been here for less than a year as well. Anyone with 'credentials' like that trying to call someone else a noob, tends to be a noob himself. Why not complain about him?

And to respond to your actual point... you imply that on average fighters today have less hand speed than fighters from the mid-late 1970s and early-mid 1980s. What is your reasoning for this? There is no reason to assume this.

All of this supports your idea that Leonard just of course has much better hand speed than Mayweather. But there is no way to compare really. They've never fought obviously and have never even fought any common opponents.

Leonard and Mayweather both have very fast hands, but what stands out to me is his combination punching. When Floyd chooses to use his, his hand speed throwing single punches is just incredibly quick. As I watch videos of Floyd at his fastest, and Leonard at his fastest... I feel like Floyd is faster. Especially if you really dig throuh his record there are a few bits of inhuman speed that some don't really think of. His jab in round 9 of Mayweather-Hatton for example.. Mayweather is past his prime in terms of hand speed, but in round 9 of Mayweather-Hatton his jab was just the fastest I've ever seen.

But I think talking about hand speed so much detracts from what I think is Floyd's greatest strength, and thats his timing. All those straight rights he lands (as well as those beautiful left hooks on Hatton, or if we visit the past, on Corrales!) are the result of AMAZING time. When this is combined with his handspeed its just unstoppable. Thats why I point to the jab in round 9 of Mayweather-Hatton. When he really popped them out as fast as he could, while timing Hatton's head movement and just his rhythm... he was able to land them at will.

Ray Leonard kicks his a$$ wins a lopsided UD and if PBF can't take it he loses by KO or TKO within 6

PBF simply doesn't enough punches when he fights at 147 or 154 and is more of a pick and choose guy ...that would spell doom against a guy like Leonard !

Leonard would beat floyd pretty easily, i don't see it being quite as lopsided as some mind floyd would win rounds and give leonard a decent fight, but leonard wins a clear decision.

A better question for me was who was better ore complete fighter 130 floyd or 147 srl, now thats a lot lot closer. But the 147 SRL is superior to 147 floyd

I think that in a fight at 147 I would favor Leonard, but it would not be an easy victory. A lot would depend on how Leonard aproched the match up. Think his first two fights with Duran in the first he went toe to toe and lost and in the seconed he boxed he had what might be his career defining victory.
Mayweather dose not have the most exciting style in the world. It is a trap that he has gotten pretty much every oppoent of his to fall for.
I think the key to beating Mayweather is to make him come to you (this dose not mean certan victory). As oposed to coming toward him.
I think Leonard would fight in this style.
It would not be the most exciting fight ever but I would pick Leonard 7-5 in a 12 round match.

It is unfair, but the most rabid Mayweather fans can't see him losing to anyone apart from Hearns at 147.

    They are pathetic.

I said this plenty of times. The best way to beat him is to make him come to u. Judah had success with this in the first three rounds.

Leonard is too fluid and too good for Floyd. Floyd would sit in his defensive little shell and he wouldn't do **** but lose every single round. Even if he opens up offensively with Leonard he'd get tagged real nice.

This is the way I analyze it,

Leonard is better than Mayweather, that is why he beats him.

    Next?

Leonard would win, but would find Mayweather a real handful. I don't think Leonard would stop Mayweather. Because A) he doesn't get caught often and B) he's got a decent chin.

Leonard doesn't have the chilling power to knockout Mayweather, especially with a single blow. People forget that Mayweather hasn't officially been down in his career, although a touch down with the glove against Hernandez gave him a count; due to pain in his hand.
