You have just said Calzaghe needed Lacy as a signature win and that you rate Kessler. Yet Ward only fought a faded double vision suffering rusty Kessler that Calzaghe had already beaten when prime. You have tied yourself up dummy lol.
As for Ward cleaning out the division. How do you work that out? He beat faded Kessler already beaten by Calzaghe, who beat Froch, who beat Bute, but not once did Ward face any of those fighters when prime or undefeated.

Lacy wasnt considered one dimensional until he fought Calzaghe. That was because Calzaghe was a step above.
Kessler may be Calzaghes best win at SMW though I would say it is debatable with the Eubank win which was also excellent and then there were his other top SMW wins.

Ward then didnt go through 168...then take ion a top 5 P4P fighter, he took on a bloated MW in P Smith. Thats right, then a novice in Barrera, then another blown up fighter in Brand before he fought Kovalev who arguablys best win was a Calzaghe victim from years earlier.
Calzaghe did go through 168 and far more convincingly against greater comp and reigned longer and Calzaghe did go up and beat a P4P fighter who was considered a legend and who would go on to rule again after Calzaghe retired.
