I was going to say pretty much the same thing, absent the wit of the boxing gloves comment, then realized, English likely isn't his first language.

Good comments. I don't think enough consideration is given to the difference in their defensive abilities and the fact that I think Lewis is more versatile. He can fight in the inside if he has too, as he has an hillacious upper cut, if he needs it, but he can also fight on the outside and is great at controlling distance. But he also has better defensive abilities too, and that seems to get completely overlooked.

    Lewis.

Boxing is psychology. Phsychologically he had Bowe broken before they even reached the ring.

lewis will go down in history as teh greater fighter.....he was a greater fighter based on achievements....but i think prime for prime, bowe beats lewis....he had the size, speed, chin and heart..no matter what you guys think...unfortunatley, it is all conjecture because rock newman had such influence over bowe that he denied us one of THE best fights of that era.....

i also think bowe might have given tyson fits..really....a big, unorthodox in fighter with a great upercut and good chin.....sounds jut like the kinda guy tyson hated.....am i deluded??..haha....

bowes problem was discipline...his prime was ludicrously short....but i dont think its fair to ciriticize his heart amongst other things....th holy trilogy were brutal, and the fact he fought the foul pole TWICE showed a fari bit of bottle.....and i cant see bowe ever being sparkled by mcall or rahman??......

lewis is by far the better fighter historically, but i just feel bowe would have had his number.....

    Prime for prime?

    I'll go with draw.
Mind you, Lewis had the psychological edge imo. They both had the tools but would Bowe be right in the head when they met?

Your also forgetting that Bowe was fighting Holyfield, a cruiserweight with good power, but no knockout power. I saw that fight and Bowe was getting hit A LOT, just imagine what happens when Lennox hits that head of his.
If they had met in 92/93 it would have been Bowe's best chance. That was him at his absolute best and would have been up against a version of Lennox who, whilst a physical beast, was a bit raw and not yet at his peak as a boxer. I would have made that 60/40 to Lewis on the grounds that Bowe was plainly intimidated by him. The Lewis of the Golota, Holyfield 1, Grant, Tua, Rahman II or Tyson fights (i.e. late 90s-early 00s) bullies any version of Bowe. Of course thanks to Bowe and his ducking we never got the chance to find out...
exactly how I feel.

When Bowe didn't fight Lewis (for whatever reason people want to say) that was his best chance to beat him.
