Chavez is obviously the better fighter, but he's made for a counter puncher like Danny who wants you to come directly at him, Danny will also be the bigger man as Chavez was undersized at 140

When has Chavez fought a counter puncher like danny though, why is everyone just writing Danny off?

Chavez too clever and defensively responsible for Garcia to land consistently. Chavez easily outworks Garcia to a UD.

There’s a reason no one has ever mentioned this “fantasy match up.” And it’s not because your unique insight and knowledge allowed you to see something no one else could. It’s because it’s dumb.

Interesting question, but clearly Julio Cesar Chavez.

Chavez wasn't like the "names" you see today who spend all their time recording themselves doing mitt work and hitting the speedbag.

They all seem to work up a routine to look flashy. They do the same movements over and over trying to look cool. But most of them are routines you now see little kids just copying.

On the other hand, basically 99.9% of Chavez's training was running and sparring. He sparred. Sparred some more. Took non-title fights all the time against anyone to work. He was constantly in the ring ring facing off with another fighter.

Not a trainer doing the same movements over and over again. He just boxed all the time Didn't matter if they were sparring partners or non-title club guys or fringe journeymen, top amateurs. He was just at it all the time. Week in and week out.

He became an expert at breaking opponents down, regardless of their style, because he was constantly in the ring throwing punches and blocking punches from people with wildly different styles.

Granted, Danny Garcia fought in the era when boxers weighed in the day before fights. By the time he got in the ring, Garcia was probably heavier than most fighters Chavez ever fought.

But the difference in the quality of the two fighters is hard to escape.

Garcia might do well for a couple rounds and then Chavez would figure him out (because Garcia is a basic fighter) and break him down round by round. By the end of the fight, I imagine Garcia's face would be destroyed and his body would be screaming in pain.

And Chavez probably stops him late.

Don't recall ever seeing such a one-sided poll anywhere!
