I would give the edge to Bowe, I think he is the better boxer and that would be the difference. That is if he stays out of a brawl.

Thanks Nez and Joe the Great! Two dif. opinions so far, but do we agree this would be about as hard hitting a match as one could see?

    foreman`s prime was against frazier.

    bowe prime against holyfield 1.

imo bowe got hit far far to many times against holyfield in the first fight and in general throughout his career in the only meaningfull fights he had, he was quite easy to find.

against a prime foreman if he got hit to many times he would have been ko`d.

    foreman wins ko IMO.

You taked me into it, Forman by eventual KO. If anyone could do it it'd be Big George (or Lennox) :yep

Not really Bowe's style. He liked to brawl, and although he had some outside skills, he specialized on the inside.

Bowe's leaky D and Foreman's heavy hands just made it hard for me to pick Bowe.

Bowe had a weak defense for a heavyweight champion. His chin was very good and he had a great will to win but his defense would let him down against the big punchers like Foreman, Louis, Tyson. Foreman would tag him and get him out of there within 6.

By the way, what greats would you guys make the underdog if they fought Bowe?

Forman had stamina issues in his prime...and tho was a better brawler from the outside, wasnt nearly the fighter from the inside Bowe was. Bowe wins this one via WIDE UD. He was ten times (at least) the boxer Big George was...and had twenty times (at least) the stamina.

And I love how people are pointing to Bowe's defense as a disadvantage vs Forman...who coincidently had one of the worst defenses EVER at HW. You guys gotta be kidding me???

**** Bowe is overrated on this forum. Foreman would beat his ass.

Bowe struggled with Tony Tubbs and then went on to fill his resume with small heavies until Bowe beat his ass twice.

And Evander would have won the series if it weren't for his ailment.

Yeah, I usually let tags deflect common sense.

I don't remember Ali or Lennox throwing belts in trash cans and avoiding the best...:hi:

    Did I defend that???

    :patsch

I have Lennox ranked WAAAAAAAAAAY higher than Bowe all time...and I mean, WAY higher. This has nothing to do with greatness.

Forman had MUCH worse defense than Bowe did...but was a bigger hitter and a slightly better outside fighter. Bowe was a MUCH better overall boxer, much better inside fighter with slightly better defense....and MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better stamina (we are talking prime versions of both). Both men had PHENOMINAL chins....so...looking at all of that, I could easily see Bowe controlling the latter half of the fight and winning comfortably on points.

Bowe's prime was so shortlived because of his **** POOR training habits and the fact that he went LEGITIMATELY INSANE really play in to his being UNDERRATED by so many (as opposed to what you said)....they remember the Golota fights, yet ignore that he came in 17 pounds (and a RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF BODY FAT MORE) heavier than he did vs Evander....he was unmotivated and he has only himself to blame for it. It mars our remembrance of how good he really was in his prime...and for that I consider Bowe, not only a HIGH RANK on the all time H2H list at HW...but also NUMERO UNO on the wasted talent list.

    Better?
