Barry fought the post title era of his career at Junior-Lightweight,which was Cornelius' poundage. Imagine a PRIME Barry at this weight.
Think highly of McGuigan, but I think Boza would be too much for him at this weight. It would be a war of attrition and Boza had legendary staying power. I'd take Boza by a late stoppage, maybe cuts.
Good point about Barry getting cut. Otherwise I still lean towards Barry. For the reason that I've stated earlier.
I don't think Barry could hang with Boza for 15 rounds. Barry wasn't even a top LW. He was very good at FW, but he wasn't an ATG. He shouldn't even be in the HOF. He He was fortunate to get Pedroza at the tail end of his career. Barry would have been tough in the early rounds, but I thing Edwards would have ground him down.
Barry would do good early and probably have a lead going into the mid rounds, but Boza was too tough, especially at JL...With Mcguigan style i cant see him taking the punishment the hard punching BOza would be giving him..Hed land the cleaner more fluid shots early but that would get Boza going stronger . Barry was a good fighter but i dont see him outbrawling these ultra tough Jls of the early 80s.. By the mid rounds Boza would match his workrate but would be hitting harder and be more durable.... BY the 7th Boza is hurting him busting him up.. Boza puts him down in a couple times in the 9th and finishes him. Boza Tko 9
Funny enough, i seen them fight on the same bill in belfast. Boza stopped charlie brown in the supporting fight and McGuigan stopped Clyde Ruan
