Tyson was still on his feet when Halpern stepped in. That's what Lefthook was pointing out.

Who cares?? His condition was as bad as lot of fighters who take the 10 count, he was completely gone from the 10th round.

Again, if the fight wasn't stopped at that point, Tyson is getting knocked out. It wasn't like the fight ended in the last round with Tyson not going down. Tyson was saved by the ref from further damage. Tyson was helpless and would have been dropped.

So? Tyson wasnt defending himself and wasnt fighting back. He was in bad shape.

You want the man to get brain damage?

Dude, am I arguing that it shouldn't have gotten stopped? Lefthook (remember him?) posted YEARS ago that Tyson was stopped on his feet. A simple fact, really.

So do you agree that Tyson was completely gone and on the verge of getting put to sleep Sandra??

Tyson was exhausted from being constantly punched by the better man, and between those 2 that would always be the case. Holyfield is simply a BETTER fighter than Tyson is, was, or ever could have been.

most won't agree with you, but I'm one of the few who picked Holyfield to beat Tyson in their first fight. I'm a fan of Tyson but one thing he always had going for him during a certain time period, was the intimidation factor. That's why I discount the Spinks fight as being anything special.

I remember the Spinks fight, and and what I remember most was that Spinks was ready to hit the canvas well before the fight even started. You could see it in his eyes, his mannerisms and his gestures.

But a guy like Holyfield would have to get either out boxed or KO'd, either way he's not giving up. I don't know who would win in their primes, but the longer the fight lasted, the better for Holyfield and that chin of granite may have been the difference.

I agree with your post, but you could have been a lot more concise by simply saying Holyfield feared no man, particularly Tyson, who Evander knew was little more than a trained street thug.

Could have, but I wanted to add a little background material into the picture, by mentioning Spinks and my take on that fight. :good

If you really wanted to be concise, you simply didn't have to respond.. lol

So, 18 pages to conclude that Tyson is/was a trained street thug aka bum....got it, so Holyfield beat a bum and we needed 18 pages to get to the truth. Naturally that victory(ies) do not count in Holyfields career because we dont rate bums as legacy building. Period.

What I am puzzled about is that the wins against that trained street thug bum is advertised as a great accomplishment by Lewis and Holyfield.

Conclusion, both Holy and Lemmie advertise beating a bum as career defining fights.
