I don't think it is much of a revelation that Spinks was looking for a way out before the " fight " even started tbh.

You're right I didn't have to respond, I just enjoy it.;)

Alternatively you could say it was quite amazing how many moron's were taken in by the myth of said street thug. ( If the cap fits, wear it )

Even funnier is how Douglas bothered to train properly for once in his life, and destroyed the myth, yet the moron's still fell for it. Seems the world in general, and Murica in particular is full of gullible idiots.

Yep that one creases me up, folk make out as though Douglas trained like Rocky Balboa in Rocky 4 when infact he was still carrying fat. He trained no harder than any other dedicated professional, Holyfield would give Tokyo Douglas a 20 break in that department.

Change my mind all the time on this but I'm beginning to settle on the theory that holyfield had his number.

Had they actually fought in their primes I. E. Instead of Douglas, I've no doubt holy wins that fight, and obviously he won the actual fight years later.

Tyson winning is too big a leap imo.

But I could come back next week and change my mind again.

The same goes for Douglas, Buster gave Tyson such a comprehensive beating how the hell can anybody say Tyson at any point in his career would have beaten Douglas, the fight was a one sided beating throughout.

You'd be surprised by how many refer to this fight as Tyson's greatest win. Sadly, I think if a poll was run, this fight would come out on top as his best achievement.

I don't think Lewis thought much of his win against Tyson, it was just something he had to do to enhance his legacy. His wins over Holyfield, V.K. and Ruddock far surpassed his win against Tyson. The only thing interesting about the Tyson win was his demonstration of how he would have dismantled him in his prime. He bullied the bully, threw uppercuts from hell at him and just otherwise beat the living **** out of the guy.

Yeah because the Tyson Lewis beat is exactly like prime Tyson, you're the biggest **** rider on this forum, at least with those other lames you can see they are trolling, you actually believe Lewis was some dominant champion who ruled the 90s, put the glass **** down and snap back to reality, no one cared for Lewis then and even less care for him now except for his little army of lames online.

    This is also true.

However, in all honesty, do you take Tyson fan boys seriously? Because I certainly don't, and neither do the vast majority of boxing aficionado's I speak to.

We all know he was very good for a couple of years when Old Tamato, and Rooney were keeping a leash on him, but if you an alyse those couple of years, some very fortunate circumstances come into play.

The amount of junkies, and **** heads he fought, other guys that were well past their primes, and fighters of the calibre of Frank Bruno.

Hardly the kind of stuff for the knowledgeable boxing fan to get over excited about is it?

The trouble with you and every other half witted Tyson fan boy scum, is you all think Tyson's prime was when he was winning. You've all got more excuses for his defeats than the Nazi's had for the death camps they built.

Where in my post did you see any Tyson worship weirdo? Every fighter has an excuse for when they lose, Lewis with his altitude acclimation excuse. Tyson with his not training excuse, etc My main point is Lewis was NEVER seen as anything special in the 90s, just one of the many heavyweights around passing the title, its the HBO and ****rider revisionist history that I find funny, dont get me wrong I'm a huge Lewis fan but im a boxing fan first and do think he is top 10 but top 3? GTFO with that, he was a good consistent heavyweight but he wasn't some god that ruled the 90s like most his fans seem to believe and be real with yourself his competition was sub par at best, miss me with the corny jokes and keep it boxing *****.

Of course it can be claimed Lewis dominated the division from 93 until 2003, minus the 2 years and 5 months between the McCall fights. That is a far from unreasonable claim. He was avoided at the behest of Don King by Murican fighters, in particular, and others from different patrs of the world.

As for his opposition, you can only fight what is available, and his was certainly no worse than most that preceeded him. Look at the amount of junkies, and alcoholics on Tyson's resume. Look at the amount of lower level fighters on Holmes's resume. Not every era can throw up an Ali, Frazier, Foreman, and Norton.

Lewis was a dominant champion, which happens to hold the most weight when measuring ATG status on a resume. For me at least. I didn't like the guy when I was growing up, not because he was British, not because I was a Bowe and Tyson fan, and not because his ***uality was questionable. I didn't like him because I felt he fought too complacent at times when he should've been more aggressive and fearsome. For a big guy with top shelf power it really bugged me. But I've grown to become a fan of these past few years, most likely because of the Klitschko sleep inducing dominance over this past decade.

Lewis is one of the most destructive fighters of all time. Despite his flaws in the ring, and the way he won 2 belts in court, you gotta give credit where it's due. Prime for prime I believe Tyson beats him after some scary moments, as well as Bowe in a match that could rival Foreman-Lyle in it's firepower and momentum swings.
