Why all the Hate about who was better in their prime, sheesh. I do not believe Ecander would always have Mike's #. He trained like a friend, was less far from his prime & crucially fought widely with his now greater & in part PED fueled strength. All credit to him (except for trhe drugs). With his power & clinching often he was able to win. I do not belive a peak Tyson who threw much better combinations & moved better, would be so thwarted. Tyson's competition was pretty good overall. He had a superb Peak Run, in frequency & dominance of fights. You can tear down almost anyone's competition, but if you examine their records before & after the fights, it was fairly good compared to most. There is a whole thread somewhere about it. Tyson is not excused for his lapses. But if he really was much better before due to focus, training, corner, etc...That must be taken into account.
He's here with the PED excuse, Holyfield was about as likely as Tyson to use drugs. Tyson trained is ass of for both bouts too and came up short twice against a past it war torn version of Holyfield.
