    When they fought in 1987,Cooney was virtually finished as a fighter. How about the Spinks of that fight versus the Cooney of 1981/82 ?

    I'm split on this one. Spinks could still outbox Cooney,but it would go the distance.

    They were the same age , Spinks was finished too in 1987 , he had knee problems. Had they met earlier , Cooney would have been gassed like he was against Holmes from chasing Spinks around the ring , especially in a 15 rounder , and then stopped by Spinks' love taps.
    A younger Spinks could have done the side/backpedaling better than the 31 years old Spinks. Although the knee problems were with him for his entire career .

    He was quite mobile against Larry Holmes though.

    In his own way.
    But it just reassures my scenario .
