LOL @ the two who choose DM because he can ''punch'' despite the fact:

A: He had KO power in his prime before his hands were injured:patsch

B: He was shot, bloated and old against a former HW and near prime condition in RJJ, and a prime Hopkins.:patsch

I guess some people can't get over the fact Joe was unbeaten and beat the **** out of 2 ATG's:lol::lol:

Yes, in Joe's physical prime he was indeed the white Bob Foster:

With that tubby steroid hypejob cheat as your avatar, you really should not be bringing questions against Calzaghe.

He ****ed up a near prime conditioned RJJ wjo ducked him when Joe was prime, and he smashed up prime Hopkins, both at their weight and both on their soil.

    The end:happy:smooch

DM didnt have an iron chin
go to 2:19. Remember also this was Rocchigiani who wasnt as big a puncher as prime Calzaghe and not with Joes workrate, yet was beating Dariusz and then the end

    Prime Calzaghe?

What is "prime calzaghe" anyway? What years/fights would those consist of?

Saying Calzaghe would perform better against kessler, hopkins ect.... if he was younger, is inadmissible

Yes Calzaghe was not in his physical prime when he finally stepped up and started fighting world class opponents....

However, We never got to see Joe fight "world class" opponents in his supposed "prime", so just assuming he would perform better against these world class opponents is unsubstantiated

What makes a fighter past his prime anyway? His reflexes, speed, chin fade.. The only way to see this decline would be in a series of fights against a similar level of opposition. Since Joe stepped up late in his career, There is no definitive way to tell whether he was past his prime, or if he wasn't as good because he STEPPED UP his quality of opposition...

Show me a prime joe vs a kessler/bhop caliber fighter so I can compare that to the joe that actually fought kessler/bhop :deal

I admit it is very difficult to truly know when Calzaghes prime was as he altered his style to suit his bad hands.
Eubank is of the caliber as Hopkins/Kessler and this was before Calzaghe had truly become top world class and you can see him scoring with big power shots that he couldnt throw later in his career and score KDs.
B Mitchell was also a top SMW, he was considered the lineal champ when he fought Ottke and only lost by SD when many thought he won, yet Calzaghe got off from the deck and blasted him out for Mitchells then only ever clear defeat and only clear SMW loss

Byron Mitchell was considered lineal champ when he fought Ottke? Based off which wins :huh
