You say clinching is illegal these days well could you please inform the ref's that are in the ring with wlad please
Clinching and HITTING were LEGAL in JJ's day, inform yourself and do research,it was a big part of boxing in THOSE days and almost everyone used the dirty boxing techniques.:good
You didn't say clinching and hitting in you're original post clever boy did you . Johnson would make this an ugly fight the size difference really isn't that much is it and johnson fought men that were bigger than Liston and managed to clinch . I'm not sure who would win but this is clearly not a mismatch plus I'd like to point out that hitting in the clinch may be illegal but you see it happening vitally any boxing contest you watch today . It's a sporting contest at the end of the day and the rules are always Brocken and stretched after all it's only illegal if the referee decides act
well that's common knowledge what I would be referring to and I certainly did make that clear in the beginning...BOY!:nut JJ would not be physically strong enough to make this a one sided fight, and as stated we are going by modern rules which the standard today is jheld which makes it more of a handicap for JJ,you just cant see b/c you don't know what you are looking at.
I give Jack a slight edge ,I think he could frustrate Sonny and smother his work.Liston never learned to cut off the ring he followed you around ,jab reset, jab reset etc.
Why do you feel johnson is so psychically weak compared to Liston plus I don't think I have suggested this would be one sided
I never said it would be a clear cut physical superior of the two, they are pretty even in size and stature however, take away the dirty boxing rules and it comes down to more skill with just hands not manhanding with physical strength, and I have liston comfortably in that dept.based on real time footage of both.
