Did this one nine years ago but loads of people have joined the site since then. The Bruno who stopped the overweight ten years past his best Bugner versus the Bugner circa 1973-77.
Again, like some of my other posts, it depends which "Bugner fight", Bugner turned up. When he was good, he was good, but when a lethargic Joe turned up, well. To answer your thread. If the Bugner that thrashed Dunn, or the one that beat Foster was in the ring with a prime Bruno, he may give him more trouble than when they actually met, but I still have to favour Frank on a hard earned points win.
Joe should definitely win this.. But it depends which bugner turns up. If the lazy one appears then Bruno bangs the jab in and possibly stop s him. But more likely is bugner messes Frank about and counters him to a decision win. Very talented guy was Joe.
I agree that this would always depend on Joe's frame of mind. If he's in one of his "Simply good to be here" moods,Bruno outworks him to score a messy, close but decisive points verdict but if Bugner's up for it,he'd stay clear of Frank's big shots early on when Bruno's always dangerous and wait for the inevitable gas out in the latter phases of the bout. This would culminate in Joe winning over the distance or even stopping his man late on.
