During my morning roadwork this little match up crossed my mind. It's a very interesting bout :think

Not an easy fight for either man, I see Holmes walking away with a UD win

    What do you think?

    Pre Rumble George messes Holmes.

Both men possessed the other's kryptonite. Foreman was usually bested by quick, durable boxers who out slicked and out lasted him. Holmes certainly falls into that category. But at the same time, Holmes was often troubled by heavy right handed hitters who could also work the body and deliver huge right hands to the head while also getting him against the ropes.. I favor Holmes in this one but its not as cut and dry as most think.

Agreed. Holmes has the ability to outbox Foreman but a couple of crushing right hands in quick succession would see Larry stopped.

The 6-1 220 Prime Morrison gave George a boxing clinic, I'm pretty sure the 6-4 230 Holmes, who was more talented than Tommy would do the same..
I think Larry would take at least 1 trip to the floor but would win a comfortable UD..

Morrison was 6'2" and 230, Holmes in his prime was 6'3"and roughly 210

40-0 Foreman crushes Holmes in the first 6. Let's not forget Foreman's
jab and finishing abilities. Larry comes out boxing on his toes, but eventually
    gets slaughtered against the ropes.

This is the way I see this as far as they both have the ability to hurt the other, however a prime Foreman would be a danger early and the younger version would gas later in the fight, Holmes has a better chance of winning as the fight goes on but I am not sure he can rope a dope Foreman to avoid the early danger and not so sure he can move from Big George....tough pick...early stop by Foreman or late stop by Holmes

I like Foreman. Not as keen as most on Holmes, however I think the latter is more likely here. If Holmes gets past 5 rounds things get desperate for Foreman and he probably gasses out.

I'd go with Holmes. The way he recovered from that shot against Shavers was pretty unreal lol. I think he could take what he would need to take in order to get the win. Entertaining fight tho

I've always felt that Holmes would have taken Foreman apart.

Holmes got caught by Shavers because he was controlling the fight EASILY, then lost focus.

I don't see him losing his focus against Foreman.

Ironic, when I think of Holmes, Foreman, and Tyson, I think of them as a style triangle. I feel that Holmes had the style to beat Foreman, Foreman had the style to beat Tyson, and Tyson had the style to beat Holmes.

I'm going with Holmes by UD.

George would have provided many early scares for Holmes, definitely a knockdown, but Larry had a very good chin and a huge heart. George gasses in the later rounds and Larry's jab, movement, skill and superior stamina secures the win.
