Holmes wasn't quite as tough as Ali, don't see anyone else surviving
    prime 70s Foreman.

George would never entertain Larry as an opponent. Stylistically Holmes is a no no for the big guy imo.Larry by dec, but he might have to get up off the floor to do it.

I'm inclined to agree with this. A prime Holmes could be hurt, and was hurt, by lesser fighters than Big George. I see Foreman destroying him within the first four rounds.

Larry would take this, stylistically it's his to win. He's so dramatically different to George's biggest name wins, Norton and Frazier.

George would come out hard but Holmes is the master boxer and very hard to put damage on when on red alert, which he would be against Foreman. He'd show the type of caution and patience he did against Gerry Cooney. Granted George is far better, but Holmes did it easy against Gerry. Foremans often wide and not overly fast blows would be mostly evaded and parried by Larry. Holmes would chip away and pile up points, and George would tire from chasing just as much as Larry would from moving. I could see a points win for Holmes, tho over 15 George might fatigue pretty big. Holmes would be quite spent as well tho.

In his own words, Holmes would take him out into deep water then drown him.

The flipside is that George is never without chance. He is 10 times the fighter Shavers was and would put noticably more pressure on Holmes, especially early. If he had him seriously hurt he is a vastly better finisher than Shavers and co.

I am only envisioning pre Ali Foreman. Holmes would beat the version of Foreman that fought Jimmy Young handily and all versions thereafter.

    50-50 fight for me.

Foreman was the stronger man, but Holmes was the better boxer and probably has one of the best jabs in HW history.

As some posters mentioned before, each of them possess the strengths that would give each other fits.

i could see Foreman getting at least 1 KD against Holmes, but I also see Holmes utilize his footwork and the entire ring and essentially box circles around Foreman for periods in the fight.

Too close for me to call.
