    Sure.

A younger Couture, or even an older Couture. Someone who could wear him out, push him and pull him and fill those muscles with lactic acid. If Shane were to beat Brock (which he wont), it would be like that. Be competitve with him, take him into the later rounds. A good all round grappler who can scrample a lot, clinch against the fense, check his heart. There are no really skilled Greco guys right now who could figh t that sort of fight imo. As for lying on your back and trying to submit him - - it would take someone with a lot heart. Nog maybe. Gonzaga even if you could take some punishment and not quit. But I dont see him losing like that again. A pure striker has no chance against a wrestler like Brock imo.

You REALLY think any version of Cro Cop stuffs Brocks shot?

No. Cro cop does not stuff his shot. But, cro cop in his prime was good at avoiding (running if he had to) big strikers or wrestlers. In prime I can see cro cop on his bike, stopping and delivering thunderous kicks to lesnar. I can also see Lesnar running into a front soccer kick while shooting. If Lesnar got the takedown it is all over but the crying. I just think cro cop could avoid him long enough to land one of his famous kicks.

    Ok that's reassuring...

As for your last question...any versions ? no , but prime crocop.. ? ko in the first. either ko or Tko. Easy. I would even bet money on it.

Ouch. Love me some CC, but Lesnar is an awful, awful match for him, assuming it ever happened.

Sure there's a chance CC could catch him with something and maybe end it then, but really, Lesnar takes this one. Too strong and too technical on the ground and too good at getting it there.

How strong is he ? he had something like 40 or 45 lbs advantge on couture and he was struggling against him. I thought he was gonna throw him around like a ragdoll but he certainly didn't.

ps: and what technic ? (apart from his wrestling)

It could depend on the setting. We never got to see a younger Cro Cop in the cage. We don't know how big a factor the cage has been versus the time frame of Filipovic's career. It would be a lot easier if it were several years ago, and he went back to Pride and regained his previous form. Then we could say,"Oh, it was the cage."

I do think the setting could make a big difference in this fight. Cro Cop would be much harder to put on his back in a ring. It takes a lot of oxygen to power those muscles of Lesnar's. Running out of gas in front of Filipovic is a nice place to take a nap. **** you, it wasn't that clever a remark. I'm not taking it back.

Avoiding Lesnar's take downs will be far more difficult if his back is against the cage. I don't care how much Rogan tout's Mirko's ground game. If Lesnar can ground and pound Mir, he can do worse to Cro Cop.

You know what...i have to admit that's a very good point..(what you said about the setting)... But i totally..;TOTALLY disgaree with your final conclusion. where you said:

Because this insinuates that Mir is a monster on the ground (which he certainly isn't)...

    Mir panics very fast...

The fight against Freeman was like 7 or 8 years ago. Mir has been promoted a belt in bjj, and risen to the top of the division twice since then.

I'm not trying to say Cro Cop is any easier to be put on his back than Mir. I'm saying I don't think his defensive skills from the bottom are anywhere near Mir's caliber once he is put there.

Dude, seriously. Crocop doesn't have a tenth of Mir's jiujitsu skills.

CC has a proven TDD against some of the best heavys in the world. He made a prime roided out 245lb Coleman look like a amateur when they fought stuffing repeated takedown attempts. For my money head to head Coleman is a way more polished wrestler than Brock with better take down skills. CC has proven his TDD is/was one of the best in MMA. Lesnar has proven nothing.
