I am confident in picking Marciano. I think he had the right style and kind of tools necessary to beat Patterson when both were at their best. Marciano could take Floyd's punches but I'm not sure about the opposite being true. And they were very close in size which I think helps Rocky more than it does Floyd. I don't think Cus D'Amato wanted Floyd fighting Rocky ever.
We'll never know will we? Let's not forget the post-Liston Floyd taking 'Bombs' from fighters and going nowhere. No disrespect to the Rock, just wanted to debuke the Patterson 'china chin' nonsense. Rock could have won, may have won but...we'll never know.
