Two extremely slick boxers, this would be an amazing bout. But who has the better night of the two in a 15 round match up? :bbb

    No one?

    lol fine

Personal Analysis: I looked at Clay vs Cooper for this one
Besides that one punch Ali dominated Cooper twice. That said I would give a prime Walcott a shot at beating this version of Ali. Walcott was excellent at setting traps. Ali's speed is a problem for anybody, but I think Walcott would force Ali to come to him and look to counter. He had a very good left hook himself.Personally I think Ali would be too green at that stage to deal with someone with the ring savvy and skill of Walcott, Ali would cause him problems but Walcott would most probably have planned ahead and lead him into a trap.

Walcott would be Jimmy Young plus power and he could counter Ali's footwork, Ali has the edge in speed Walcott the harder puncher. Ali may be able to stick and move but JJW was tricky and could land that hook and put Ali on his butt. If they fought 3 times could be another Ali- Norton trilogy

Walcott would always be a hard fight for anyone, but prime Ali wins by tko in the latter stages. Too fast for JJW.

You are without a doubt one OF the most disgustin trolls on this Forum, prime ali was better than walcott in every department and Ali could beat him just using a single ARM, ali was no slow, dumb marciano, AND PRIME ALI NEVER FACED JIMMY YOUNG, ****ING IDIOT

Have to go with Ali here. Not saying it would be easy but with Ali's height and reach advantage plus hand and foot speed he would be able to fight at distance and keep Joe safely away. If Walcott can get close often enough he could be trouble but I don't see that happening. Ali by decision.

I'd go with Ali too, but Joe may make him look bad. Still, Ali on points in a rather uneventful fight.

Ali would win a convincing UD in a very boring fight.

I just thought of something Fist. Ali had trouble with getting hit by left hooks most of his career. Walcott had an excellent left hook which had quick and accurate delivery and even some snap behind him. Do you think Joe could put him on the deck once?

Of course he could. Walcott was much better than Cooper who managed it. And Cooper was competitive twice against Ali, it wasn't just a lucky left hook; Cooper gave Ali a fight.
I think Walcott has a chance to disrupt Ali's style; whether he could land often enough to outpoint him is the question.

He could have kayoed the young Ali. The prime Ali would start favourite and the 70's Ali against Joe would be 50-50 in my opinion.

Walcott in a split decision with a knock down on Ali. I think Ali would get to confident and...bam down goes Ali. Ali one of my favorites tho!

A prime Ali of the 1966 Cleveland Williams fight vs Prime Jersey Joe Walcott would be an excellent bout. That version of Ali would be on his toes, jabbing, throwing combinations, and looking to fire that right hand at Joe, who is a stationary target. Joe is very tricky, but Muhammad is not the Rope A Dope Ali of the April 30 1976 fight against Jimmy Young. When he fought Henry Cooper on May 21 1966, he was very cautious of what happened in their 1st fight, on June 18 1963. He kept Cooper on the outside, and also Ali was very light at 203 lbs. Ali scores enough to capture a unanimous decision over Jersey Joe, Walcott will have his moments, great right hand. But confusing Ali with the post Thrilla In Manila fight is confusing. The Prime Ali could dance 15 rounds non stop, the older edition of Ali needed to lay on the ropes, lacked reflexes, and stamina. He could punch harder, but what is the use, when you have to struggle to win.

Ali. His size and speed advantage makes me lean his way. Though, a prime Walcott would be the best out of all of his 60s title defenses.
