It's really not as easy as that. Styles make fights. That's why I never go along with the idea that Morales should be considered a greater fighter than Barrera based purely on the Pacquiao results. Different styles result in different outcomes.
The ass whooping the weight drained and shot Morales put on Pacquiao was too much. Imagine what a prime Morales would do :hey
The November 2006 version of Pacquiao is good enough to be competitive against any version of Morales IMO. :good
I understand that and I never meant it to be a "be all end all" judgement, but since it's a fantasy fight we would have to use all sorts of different information and have to at least take that into account, since these events did occur during one of the two in question's "prime". If we're truly considering "prime" semantics, how's this for theory: How would have Morales fared in their first fight had he been the one to fight in Marquez' place?
Pacquiao was only on his peak based on athleticism. He was very raw skill wise the time they met on the trilogy. The 3rd fight was the closest to his peak.
Haha. Usually I'd never make reference to anything like this as it's pretty chilidsh but I can't help myself here. Got to be one the best schoolings I've seen on ESB. Balanced opinion underpinned by sound contextual knowledge = win.
past prime weight drained Morales handed Pacquiao his ass and nearly did it twice. Prime healthy Morales beats him every time.
I think the styles clearly favour Morales, so I'd go with Morales. That being said, as someone stated before Morales primed around 122, Pacquiao in my opinion was around 130, 135.
