It would be a close fight because of Calzaghe's work rate.

It would come down to the judges deciding between work rate and accuracy

I think Toney would win a SD.

No,Prime Roy would KO Joe in just 3 rounds, probably even earlier that that,If a badly shot RJ could drop and hurt Joe in the very 1st rd,just imagine what Roy in his prime would have done :verysad a total complete massacre

:huh:lol: Eh?? I get the feeling you think you have done something clever, but I don't even know what it is.

I corrected your shitty post, you picked a line out of it, and I corrected your shitty post again.

And FYI, I don't do anything "to Joe". You obviously have some deep personal attachment to this man that I don't really want to know any more about, but criticizing his resume on a boxing forum is not exactly doing something "to Joe". :nut

I had the same thought about 2 years ago after watching the Barkley fight. My personal issue is that I haven't seen much of Joe's early career so I don't know when his true peak was. But taking the Lacy fight for Calzaghe and the Barkley fight for Toney, I have to lean towards lights out.

That night, that Toney, had faster, sharper hands and combinations than Super Joe. Don't get me wrong, it's not a huge difference but Toney's hands were like lightening and he threw much, much crisper shots with more beef on them. I see Joe pushing Toney to the ropes and blitzing him, hitting little more than forearms and shoulder's while Toney picks him off with counter rights (which joe is very vulnerable to) and uppercuts on the inside.

By the sixth, Calzaghe is cut but not tiring and Toney starts working him way off the ropes and taking it to Joe in the centre of the ring. Calzaghe has a big heart and great chin so I don't see him getting knocked out or stunned on too many occasions but Toney's defensive genius and offensive superiority would lead it to be stopped on cuts in the 9th.

    Toney TKO 9

JOE c all day baby 98-2003 Calzaghe beats Toney any version at 168 ./ fast hands and power, his hands were still good. and he actually threw punches properly with power behind them at that time. he had great movement and his chin was solid. Toney always had troble with fighters faster then him and mainly thrived on slow handed, text book, plodders type of fighters. JOE by UD 116-112 toney would find it hard to counter a blistering 5-6 punch combo and the angles they would be coming from plus the power on thoughs punches( he didn't really slap back then) would have Toney 2nd guessing . simply he gets out worked. now if it's the JOE from the manfredo fight - hopkins i say it's a toss up as he had eroded quite a bit. if it the Joe from the RJJ fight he may get KTFO as Joe was not even close to prime toney would beat that joe but a prime joe beats him no doubt about it.

excellent points. also alot of poster oare basin the joe c from the lacy fight on all the while joe c clearly not being prime he had actually started to slip a little in the Ashire fight so you have to figure in a prime JOe c- a prime Toney at 168

toney would find it very difficult to land ona prime joe C who could eveade punches ratehr Well and you also have to factor in JOE's own power although Toney woun't be getting KO'd he def will get buzzed at tiem with joes hands being healthy
