Who wins? George Foreman from 73-74 vs Riddick Bowe from 92-93

    Tough one.

Probably Bowe via close decision. Bowe had a great jab and had the physical strength to deal with George. Both defenses are terrible and I think Bowe had more tools to use at his disposal.

Bowe was good for such a short period of time but the Bowe that fought Holyfield has a good shot. Absorbs some bombs and as George gasses picks up enough rounds for the W.

Prime Foreman was an almost untameable beast. The Bowe who fought Holyfield would have given him plenty to think about. But I still got George here.

Bowe was too easy to hit, and too brawl happy to win this one. He'd trade with George, and he'd lose at doing it.

    Foreman KO 6.

    Foreman and early

Bowe got hit way too much and this would prove costly against Foreman

Also one thing ive noticed is, Bowe sometimes falls asleep in the first round, eg Cooper and Hide,

I cannot see Bowe taking it.

And while Foreman could gas, he did not do so that frequently, & Zaire/Ali pulling him down all night was a special circumstance. Bowe was not elusive & did brawl, how is he going to win against the brute Foreman? A great boxer might pick him apart, maybe.

I think Bowe's defense, particularly on the outside, was too poor to win this.

He avoided punches better when he was on the inside than he did at mid or long range.

Foreman. Bowe was good but he had a horrible defence, he got hit way too much. (that's why he had to retire at the young age of 29). Foreman would probably lose the first round and maybe even the second one too but the accumulation of punishment that he wold put on Bowe would add up and I think Foreman knocks Bowe out in about 6-8 rounds.

Bowe would knock him out. Prime Bowe had unstoppale work rate and stamina. Foreman coming on to him will be lifted with uppercuts under his cross armed guard. Just to much long range fire powe for him to walk through.

Foreman didn't use the cross arm when was young and he was much fitter and faster as well.

True. He came in open without out much of a guard. It would be tough fight for both men. Bowe with his higher level of skill and speed takes it for me.

205lb Evander Holyfield, put Bowe thru living hell in 1992, (Bowes best fight), hurting him on several ocassions, and Holy isn't near the puncher the 74 Foreman is...

I think at some Point Bowe"s ego will make him brawl with George and that will lead to his demise, George knocks him out late in the fight...

Bowe had a pretty good run in 1991-1992, but didn't have the needed physical ,mental make-up for a long career, after those 3 fights with Holyfield he was toast, it didn't help much that he was lazy and addicted to McDonald's....
