Prime Foreman vs prime Bowe

I'm not sure about this one.

Bowe definitely got hit too much, but George was no defensive wizard either. Both could be pretty easy to hit at times.
That I suppose favours Foreman slightly - for my money the harder puncher and also a probably a bit more durable - but Bowe has a wider repertoire of punches and had more than respectable power and a pretty solid chin as well.

I think the big question is does Bowe box or brawl? Nobody ever stood in front of George and lived to tell the tale.
Bowe was a formidable talent in a criminally brief window though. He has the tools to beat Foreman, but could he?

 

Great matchup. If Bowe listens to Futch and pumps that jab all night, he wins.
Great fireworks on the inside. Bowe had the Power, Physical strength, heart, and
determination to beat or stop Foreman. Bowe could be hurt and Foreman knew
how to finish. Bowe can't be stopped, too tough. Somebody's winning a split decision.

 

Bowe had a good chin but he got hit too much to be hit by Foreman, If he boxed and moved a bit and took George deep that may favor Bowe but like I said Bowe got hit and George could hit

 

I am shocked to hear anyone contend that either guy had a prime.

 

I have to agree with Mr. Davis. On the surface Riddick Bow may look as though he has all the right stuff to take advantage of Foreman. But the simple fact of the matter is, he got hit too often for his own good. Its a nice idea to suggest that he could box, move and jab, but that wasn't his regular game plan. The man loved fighting on the inside and imposting himself on most of his foes.. Might be a mistake for a guy who had poor defense going in against the man who smashed Frazier, Norton and Lyle to bits..
