Prime Foreman vs. Prime Tyson

I like the Foreman jab and uppercut. Posting Lyle footage to me is like posting Tyson against Douglas or Ruddock, perhaps worse. Mentally he wasn't the same fighter, and he wasn't doing the things he was by his run up to the title. Foreman digressed jabbing after that Frazier fight. He fell in love with that power and declined more so than Tyson did imo.

 

Tyson was stopped by Douglas and Holyfield, guys who weren't huge punchers.
I mean, who else did Douglas ever knock out or knock down ?

I don't care that Tyson "remained on his feet" - he was getting pummelled. He was in a fog for most that time. And he got knocked out. That's nothing to boast about.
I would imagine that Foreman took more punches from Holyfield, as did Bowe.
Tyson couldn't go the distance with Holyfield or Douglas but several other top heavyweights could. Even guys who were taking loads of shots.
It's ridiculous to use those KO defeats to prove his durability.

Frazier was over-the-hill at the time. Tyson was stopped by Holyfield at a similar stage of his career.
You think Frazier would be stopped by Douglas ?

If there is any heavyweight with the chin to withstand Mike's punches, and the power to stop his onslaught, it is Big George.

 

What I think as well man I just listed those fights for people to look at. I put up the Berbick fight just to show that Tyson being pushed back didn't somehow completely take him out of his game, it didnt make much of a difference because he wasnt an inside fighter.

Frazier was an inside fighter, that's why him getting pushed back resulted in him getting bounced up and down like a yo yo.

 

berbick could not do it even ok, because he did not have the strength of foreman, a short puncher must hit ALWAYS in the short distance.

 

You're pigeonholing yourself and gonna be grouped with Combat aka Foreman Hook aka downgoesfrazier with those kinds of arguments. If Tyson is winning early rounds with ease and is dominating, 100% of the time he goes on to win his fights with ease and domination. When has Tyson folded after taking a few punches?
