Of course Bruno wasn't that good...he fought Iron Mike Tyson and lost. Thus Bruno just plain sucks! Dude, you're comedy relief is much needed in this thread. You can't help yourself, can you!?

Bruno is better than Ruiz. I don't see Ruiz doing much in the 70's-90's eras. AJ is a weird guy. Because Ruiz beat AJ that automatically means he beats Bruno?

Bruno is solid. He's a big dude who could punch and box when needed. Ruiz isn't Bonecrusher and not nearly as dangerous.

Anyways, I don't see Andy Ruiz stopping Frank Bruno within 5 rounds. If Bruno sucks wind late in the fight, that would be Ruiz's only chance to get the win. Let's not get carried away with a guy who doesn't look that great to begin with.

You’d think so, unless he got knocked out in the first round and blamed Don King.

If you guys look at AJ's neck, it's very small and thin. His dome is small too and makes peanut head Holmes look like Mike Tyson from the neck up.

Ruiz’s weight and aggression would cause Bruno’s stamina to fail. If Ruiz has the mindset to walk through Joshua’s power, he wouldn’t be overly respective of Bruno’s.

What now we automatically assume out of shape fat boy Ruiz has world class stamina based on the Joshua fight?

It’s no given that Joshua hit harder than Bruno.

Frank Bruno was a much better boxer than Joshua but he didn’t cope with being hit any better. Once he was tired and once he was hurt, the combination of the two together, against good fighters, it was always matter of time.

However, I’m not so sure Ruiz would be good enough to get him as tired or as hurt as he was able to get Joshua. Frank really could control better fighters on the end of his jab than Ruiz. I mean I like him and all but that’s for now, not then. If Frank hit Ruiz as often as he hit Witherspoon or Lewis I don’t think Ruiz lasts. He does not have the seasoning of a Witherspoon, the speed of Tyson or the power of Lewis to turn it around.

The one thing, where I give Ruiz a real chance is for his gameness and persistence. He is a nice boxer and his game is set around punching with his opponent. He knows when to strike. And he knows how to do it, where to stand, how to draw the exchange etc, and that’s magnificent for todays climate. I just think the level of boxing in Franks time was more receptive of that kind of thing. Frank was extremely disciplined fighter until he got tired. I just don’t see Ruiz reaching him by then.

Ruiz made Joshua, Dimitrenko, and Hammer quit. It’s probably not the type of fighter who Bruno would perform well against.

Yeah but Ruiz couldn’t make Parker quit even though Joshua did so that point is really irrelevant in regards to Bruno. Each fighters reaction is different.

Probably not, but it is about levels. If Ruiz could impress in Franks era I would be right with you. But it isn’t Franks era is it? Ruiz would really benefit from that era because better fighters make you better.

Dimitrenko and Hammer might not get past Anders Eklund or quick Tillis. Gerrie Coetzee knocks both of them out for sure. And I really don’t see Joseph Parker beating Carl theTruth Williams either, and I am talking about the one Frank Fought too.

So without better fighters to develop against Ruiz stagnates at a level below this. If hecwas fighting better fighters he never would have lost against Parker.

I’m not falling for your traps. You know damn well at what point in their career several of those guys you named were at.

I’d give Bruno a lot more credit if he’d beaten Bonecrusher and at least gone the distance in one or two of the fights with Witherspoon, Tyson, and Lewis.

Ruiz has a better chin than Frank had there is no way Bruno would have come back from the punches AJ dropped Ruiz with, Jumbo Cummings wouldn`t have left Ruiz out on his feet, he wouldn`t have caught him flush either, Smith didn`t have Ruz`s hand speed and was much easier to hit, look how many of AJ`s jabs got parried by Ruiz, Smith got hit by Bruno`s jab all night before catching him, look where Ruiz`s gloves are held v AJ compared to Smith`s v Bruno, a far tighter guard.

Bruno wouldn`t have been able to carry on for four more rounds after taking the counter hook that messed AJ up in the third.
